This. Learning to live in WH space isn't that diffferent from learning to live in low sec or learning to live in NPC null.

How experienced do you think members of a corp should be to attempt the wh life?

No experience necessary. Come on up! We'll teach you all the fear and paranoia you'll ever need - gratis!

Srsly. One of my alts has been farming Clone NPCs in a Lo-Sec island which is home base for a prolific ganker. Hasn't been caught yet... D-Scan is life, and salvation, and the Law. All hail, The Cult of D-Scan!

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Is it crazy to shed the shackles of sov mechanics?

Is it crazy to shun the use of a chat channel as critical, instant, effort free intel?

Is it crazy to forego the safety afforded by stations and instant blob backup via cynos?

Is it crazy to spends weeks seeding sleeping capitals into an enemies home system to burn it to the ground for no reason other than it must be done

Is it crazy to live in dark places which can only be accessed via sacrifice to the RNG gods

Is it crazy to spontaneously connect to something - another wormhole, nullsec, or lowsec - and lash out at it

is it crazy to is it crazy is crazy it is to????

FUN Don't forget rule number 1 .. You play the game to have FUN

what is fun for one person is not fun for others. Fun in a game has various components like rl stress relieve, fascinating one's attention, minor feelings of "accomplishment" , social interaction ... and others..with some people looking for more of one ingredient than another.

People in the thread have described aspects of worm-hole life .

What will COULD make you the most ISK is a secondary question of course. Even though piling up sheny stuff can be a fun goal in itself, If you don't want to log on you won't make any isk at all.

EVE is a multi player game. What will cause you to drift away and the potential new and/or stonger bonds you form with new and existing associates is key to the WH or not consideration. There are pressures and to some that will be exhilirating and others stressful in ways they don't want after rl work. The extra logistical steps involved are tedious to some but sources of saftifying accomplishment to others.

Overcoming difficulty together forges friendships. If your existing game contacts are kinda "meh" taking a dive into a worm hole corp with one or two of your current friends or recruiting a couple others and doing it on your own even if other associates are tepid about it is probably a great way to form game associates that make the game a lot richer over the years.

Truly, the friendships are one of the most valuable aspects of the game. 90% of my game play might be alone, with space ships but i've got a chat window or teamspeak open more like 60% of the time, and the prospect of doing something later with game friends is on my mind as I nerd out alone. Without the "value" of the EVE context I get from PVP and/or protection of stuff with friends, there wouldn't be nearly the joy I have with trading activities because... it wouldn't feel like the fortune had any latent use.

tldr Think of the emotions involved and factor in your interaction/cooperation you'll be part of as a major factor in your decision.(a very positive aspect I think if you're not finding engrossing things thrown at you now)

Such a negative connotation. Surely, once you've shot someone in the face, they no longer need any "stuff" right? In fact, is that not their gift to you ... an offering of thanksgiving for revealing the return path to the sanctuary of Hisec space?

In W-Space, a bomb to the face is just a friendly and polite way of saying "Good day!"

It's also an act of worship, Bob rewards those who sacrifice infidels to his glory, with bountiful sites and statics that lead to uninhabited dead end systems close to Jita.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

I was playing around in a WH the other day and did the ultimate in stupid things. My worm hole collapsed after i went through and I didnt have a scanner.

I was lucky enough to meet someone in there who actually guided me out without even asking for anything. I think there are a lot of crazies in wormholes and idiots like me but I think there is also some nice people in there too.

Wormholes are very peaceful place when you decide to live there. You will create certain habits from others residents. They call it dscanning. OveI time those habits take control of you and suddenly you are terrified of highsec: OMG-SO-MANY-SHIPS-ON-DSCAN! QUICK! GET BACK!!!

Local is a shock to the system after spending time in a wormhole, all those people are scary and have no idea about operational security.

I saw local once. It had someone talking to me. Me specificly. My first instinct was to hop into my onyx and relax on high sec with the bubble up. You know, like a normal person would.

Then i realized that I was in high sec. I had been all along. Someone had just opened a private convo asking me if I want to buy a mining permit.

I hate high sec. Give me my post PvP surveys and no local any day.

Did you buy the mining permit?!!?? :)

Local does feel a bit like cheating but take advantage of what you have given to you. I often forget to close d-scan in HS when moving through there.

Been there, done that, scares the bezeeus out of me for the first couple of mins.

Similar experience. But in my case their form of help was to pod me and send me to my clone station. In the end both you and I made it out.

I live in wspace, since 2010

It's the greatest thrill in EvE if you ask me.

Anything from a 2 man fleet. up to 200+ at any given moment
But the most fun is around 20 players...ít makes things easier and people can be as drunk as they want to Blink

WSPACE has three camps.

You have the ~elite~ pvpers who sit on wormholes all day in tech 3 blobs trying to shoot something desperately.

You have the general dwellers who may fight or scurry about, nothing bad tbh.

You have the people who know what they are doing and have massive amounts of fun. While at the same time the ~elite pvpers~ deny their existence as wh corps.

WH inhabitants only turn crazy when they're crazy russians. :P

Our crazy russian once turned our whole system in one giant death trap for cloaking ships for a week because he suspected we had regular visitors...

EDIT: It was impressive, but also a little bit intimidating. I always tried to stay on his good side after that.

Stupidity should be a bannable offense.

Fighting back is more fun than not.
