Hey there,

After the patch this thursday (07/11) the launcher worked excellent... Untill today, I played some and all of a sudden I get these common "mac" freezes. When trying to log back on the launcher dont launch the game! I log in, press play and then it just quits.

Anyone got similar problem, or a solution?

Thanks for the help.

Have you checked the activity monitor if there are any errant EVE or wine processes still running? Occasionally on crashes (or just failed starts), those will keep you from (re)launching the client.

If you find any, force-quit them and try again.

i am having a problem with my launcher now for some reason. i get home and it starts downloading a launcher update, and it downloads everything and patches but then quits and gives me an error popup. now every time i try to open eve it gives the same popup. i have even fully uninstalled and installed 2 times now only to get the same damn error.

i mean really ccp? i will be expecting a credit to my accounts for days lost if this is not fixed.

I am getting exactly this. I find I can go into the package for Eve Online.app and launch the EVE Client itself successfully. I expect that once The client needs patching I will be hosed, however.

i found the same, that i can bypass the launcher and it runs, but this limits to only being able to log in 1 account at a time. so multiboxing is not possible.

Ive had a similar issue where a clone will not start. The solution was to keep trying. After the fifth to tenth try it would start.

20 tries in a row did not, unfortunately, produce any different results from the "Open Console/Terminate" dialog referenced above.

Did you try deleting files at
User/Library/Saved Application State/com.ccpgames.eveonline.savedState/
and
User/Library/Caches/com.transgaming.EVEOnline/

or installing EVE on another User?

deleted everything in user/library for eve and reinstalled....
same thing. and installing as a different user i'm not going to even bother with as i'm not about to also reinstall everything else such as coms and what not because of something that needs to be fix on my user log in. sorry.

It looks like the problem has been solved.
After 3 days having that stupid error, now I did exactly the same procedure to launch EVE (click on the icon on my desktop) and it worked, out of the sudden.
But the launcher is new, it looks totally different and it logs into EVE before you actually start the game.

Well the important thing is that now I can go back to the exciting mining routine.

yeah, not sure what error you were having but this has not fixed itself for me. i just did the whole uninstall, reinstall, launcher download, runs patch update and still the same error.

so this is still a current issue. still waiting (day 3) for a reply from ccp on my support ticket and bug report.

has not fixed itself for me... however, if I do a "show package contents" on my eve icon, and then go
contents->Resources->Eve online, and click on eve online, it works (no launcher), just straight to the login

Verity your workaround worked until today when a new patch came out. Now I'm stuck again getting the damn error message. Would be nice if we could get someone to fix this.

Are you able to supply some more console logs? The popup doesn't give any context for whats failing. Additionally, what version OS are running?

OS X 10.8.4
Just had the launcher update itself and then fail. The application is now marked as not compatible with the OS.

No diagnostic or crash dumps showing in Console. I did skim through the logs and find a few things during the update process.

It did get far enough to make the video card shift from the onboard Intel to discrete NVidia, but it died shortly after and reverted back to Intel. The display itself never changed.
