Suggestion for the Destroyer Buff: 12.5% Rof Penalty

Tallest, if you have time, could you please look into making the RoF penalty on the new Destroyers 12.5% instead of dropping them completely. This would be a good compromise between higher dps and not being too overpowered.

nah, just nerf their sig rather than buff it and we have ship that would be well designed to fit a certain terrifying niche. their problem on TQ right now is their damage ain't actually all that scary while they are too easy to kill and lack speed or utility. rather than being boring and shying away from making them dps monsters and making them well-roundedly better like pussies we should make go all the way on the dark path of dps and just abandon all hope of making them survivable. anyway, that's mah two cents.

Agreed. Glass cannons like the new Teir 3 battlecruisers. You want survivability? Get a drake.

Destroyers have been humiliated more than any other class ship in the game for as long as I can remember, being reduced to salvagers. They need this. Who cares if its a lil "OP", finally Frigates will have something to worry about. And on the Test server, the Destroyers are still pretty easily killed by Cruisers and BC's.

Removing the RoF penalty on destroyers is probably the single most awesome thing in the entire expansion. To say I 'disagree' with your point of view would be to put it mildly. Destroyers have languished on the scap heap (in fact being used almost entirely for salvaging said scrap) for far too long.

So no - you can take your unexplained compromise and stick it up your MWD.

Ghod forbid any of you guys actually post some testing data. You know, some actual numbers to support your concerns?

I do understand that you guys have 'feelings' that you keep posting in these threads; however those just aren't very convincing.

I don't suppose there's talk of adding a mid-slot to the Coercer?

With 1 mid slot, there's no way to tackle frigates in a "frigate killer" destroyer.

I wouldn't want there to be. Destroyers aren't really meant to be warp scramblers etc are they, and I don't agree it needs to be nerfed. In a fleet, destroyers will be now usable, but still very very vulnerable, and still don't have the speed of frigates to disengage from ugly situations. Cruisers can easily rip them to shreds, so, in fleet they are balanced. As for against frigates, frigates should struggle against destroyers, that is their freaking sole role in EvE... to kill frigates.

I do feel frigates should get more survivability to be useful in fleets however.

Originally it was mentioned that Assault Frigates would get improved in the Winter Expansion, and we are yet to see what those improvements are, but it sort of makes sense that Assault Frigates could be more robust given their role, and perhaps a frigate counter to destroyers. But to my mind, it should take two frigates to kill a destroyer, in the same way it sort of takes two destroyers to kill a cruiser, and two cruisers to kill a battleship etc... you get the idea.

The idea that because it uses small weapons means it should be easy to kill with a single frigate is absurd.
