Due to a recent terrible post in evenews24 about Titans, I had an astonishing Idea.

Whada know? Evenews24 might have been useful for once.
Feel free to chew this apart, as long as you say why and give a reason. That way I learn and am not left all confused.

Outline: (for those who hate reading walls of text)

Origin of Idea:
Endgame Content doesn't feel like endgame material.

Problem:
When you see a titan, most peoples thoughts are "Quick, someone grab tackle!' not "Oh **** they brought a Titan"

Solution:
Make Titans function like large mobile Starbases, with all the customization and ability to add gunners.

More in-depth detail:

A 10,000 to 20,000 meter ship with only a few guns on it sounds silly. Currently their great at tanking damage, and dealing damage if the turrets can track the target.

What I propose is that when you make a Titan, you have a core, like the center of a starbase. What you then do is make all the supportive components and "glue/tape/staple" them onto the outside in available slots. What are these components you may ask? Well, I will list some examples.
Weapons:
-Small Gun Blister
-Consists of 5-9 small turrets
-2 Types, the long range type and the short range type
-Basically the point defense systems on a Titan, would not be a bad Idea to have one of these mounted.
-Medium Gun Blister
-Consists of 5-7 medium turrets
-2 Types, long and short range variant
-Don't think this type of blister would be used too often, go big or go home. Best to include it as an option.
-Large Gun Blister
-Consists of 3-5 Large turrets
-2 Types, long and short
-Capital Gun Blister
-Consists of 1-3 XL turrets
-Basically what the Titans are armed with now, would be the main weaponry.

Support Blisters
-Drone Bay
-A large bay with a large amount of drones. only 5 can be launched though (per bay)
-you would have plenty of spares
-Shouldn't have nearly the same dps power as large or capital weapon blisters
-Basically, titan pilot could chose this or small weapon blisters for point defense work.
-Smart Bomb Blister
-can deploy 1-3 or 3-5 smart bombs at a time. Limited ammunition though.
-Might be overpowered as ****, so possibly exempt this.
-Rep Blisters
-Could be Shield/Armor/Hull/Energy/Muffin remote rep.
-Honestly, let the carriers handle this, but maybe someone will come up with a brilliant plan involving this. More options = better, right?
-would have 3-7 rep turrets, so gunner could either rep multiple or just a single ally
-Tanking Blisters
-Shield Boosting Blister
-Would strengthen Titan shields by adding loads of HP, adding more passive regen, and hardening the shields from all weapon damage types.
-Include active tanking abilities as well that the gunner can activate.
-Strains the CPU and Cap
-Armor Boosting Blister
-Would strengthen Titan armor by adding loads of HP, and adding more resists to all weapon damage types.
-Includes active tanking abilities that the gunner can activate
-Strains the powergrid and maneuverability/acceleration
-Hull Boosting Blister
-Would strengthen Titan hull by adding loads of HP, and adding more resists to all weapon damage types.
-Includes active tanking abilities that the gunner can activate
-Strains the maneuverability of a Titan cause of the extra weight
-Cause Hull tanking in Titan is best tanking in Titan?
-These are intended to be one of each type (well, one of the first two types anyways) to achieve the tankyness of what we see in Titans now.
-Of course, someone will probably load up a titan with as much shield, armor, or hull blisters as they can and maybe a gun battery for the laughs.

EWAR Blisters
I think you get the picture, each blister has a certain type of ewar effect and numerous emitters so a gunner can affect multiple targets.

Other Blisters
For those who want to live out of their titan with their corp.
Basically Blisters for ship hangers, maintenance bays, storage facilities, assembly arrays, reactors, refining blisters, etc etc.
There would also probably be mining laser/strip mining blisters as well as possibly moon mining blisters. (but activating a moon miner immobilizes the ship for a hour while it runs, leaving plenty of time for a ambush if discovered Twisted )
This in effect could make the Titan a mobile starbase, and severely compromise the fighting capacity of these ships.
There would have to be some type of rule to stop people from docking in the titan when under fire, switching ships, and undocking right away.

Okay, so for the amount of blisters a titan can support would probably be determined by how much the ship model can hold and the powergrid/cpu much like a control tower. Adding different blisters changes the look of the ship, so maybe theoretically there could be thousands of combinations for thousands of possibilities?
Each blister would have to be controlled by a dedicated gunner, so a Titan could have around to 10 people in it controlling it at the same time. Each titan would give racial bonuses, example: Gallente Titan give bonus to range/rate of fire/damage/tracking (one or two of those) to hybrid weapons, and then a bonus to storage capacity of all hangers/bays.

Well, I'm running outta characters to type with, so I'll wrap up this post now. Tell me what you think!
Wish to see something added/removed from this list? Additional Ideas/critiques?

Oh, and the existing Titans in the game? they would probably be reverted to just cores, so I can imagine alliances scrambling to gather materials to make these parts/blisters soon after this is implemented to refurbish their existing Titans (if it ever was, just a theoretical scenario).

Anyone else think that the Hyperion looks too good not to be used?

A: Define end game in a sandbox MMO, what might be your end game is most likely not someone else's!

B: If you see a titan that not being supported by a blob...some...really...fed up.

C: This has been said time and Time again, only involving a different topic. You can't have more then one player on a ship at a time, it why people keep shooting down these silly ideas involving people flying a carrier's fighters/fighter-bombers.

And finally D: After reading through the stats of some of the suggested... I think I got trolled by responding to this thread. :|

never rule out ignorance as the answer to everything. I remember my first forum post being about how they should add ways to triple or quadruple training speeds.

Sooooo... from what I can gather, the idea being promoted here is to give titans some form of leprosy?

So, what you're trying to say is: the 'end game' fleet shouldn't be a varied, mixed subcap/cap/supercap fleet, but just as many Titans as you can get hold of?

No thanks!

Not sure if serious.

I think you included elements belonging to POS's as well as outposts there....

Are you attempting to reverse engineer the death star itself??

I can see it now, Titans will have a new bonus, a chance to spread Space Herpes to any ships that they attack, jumpbridge, touch, look at menacingly, etc. Which, will then modify that ship to have the same bonus. The Space Herpes by itself causes rust and corrosion, eventually turning all ships MinMatar and, through an evolutionary leap, infects the capsuleers with the Super Herp, who give it to Dust bunnies, and then the universe! There is no cure, only embarrassing tests and even more embarrassing phone calls.

Wasn't that originally used for some kind of yeast infection?

Dear mudpies... a capital yeast infection?

Actually, the way this thread is going, its more like a grainy nightvision Paris Hilton sex tape.

When I see a titan I didn't expect, I call the kids - obviously the school bus is early.

Now that I have that out of my system, Titans are stupendous - for mobile stargates. What they aren't is good at just about anything else (short of dropping the hammer on carriers). CCP needs to seriously rework capitals - all of them - from the ground up, and I desperately hoping that comes as part of the general tieracide and rebalance efforts from Fozzy and Rise.

And when I say capitals I mean jump freighters, carriers, dreads, supers, titans - and they should probably give Rorquals a shifty if they intend to really move ALL off grid boosting on grid.

De'Veldrin's Corollary (to Malcanis' Law): Any idea that seeks to limit the ability of a large nullsec bloc to do something in the name of allowing more small groups into sov null will inevitably make it that much harder for small groups to enter sov null.

Not sure what the difference is?

One is hot, One has a catch phrase 'That's hot."

One youd gladly do for an eternity, the other youd gladly do until your first outbreak.
