Broken Statics?

Today, I flew into a Class 2 with a static C2 and Lowsec. Probing around, I found the hole I came through, the C2, the Lowsec, and a K162 that came from a C4.

However, I also found a third outgoing hole. Y683, to a Class 4. However, the EVE WIki lists this hole as being a static (And I didn't think C2's got wandering/roaming holes anyway).

Is this just a spawning glitch for the Y683 not spawning in the correct system? No system has 3 statics, but apparently this one does (C2, C4, Low).

All wh's get "periodic" statics meaning random holes to other space that can be opened.

Don't ban me, bro!

So effectively a wandering hole with the ID of a static? I guess when it dies it doesn't respawn elsewhere in the system as a static does?

Correct it will not respawn or there again it just might as rogue wormholes can spawn anywhere at anytime.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. Just trying to be helpful. Sometimes I wish I was wrong (especially when we are looking for an easy exit)

Rumors are that there is a wandering highsec in c4-space. Didn't run across one myself, but an acquaintance apparently found one twice over the last two-three years.

I once jumped through a crit/EOL C6 > C6 connection that was previously neither 5 minutes prior with no one else in chain and I collapsed it; scanned down the new C6 and low and behold it was a new sig but the same system connected.

wormholes spawn, wormholes collapse, you can't explain that.

Found a C2 yesterday that had C1/HS statics; despite that, the system had 2 D382s to other C2s.

C2s do indeed get wandering holes to other W-space systems (any class is possible, from C1 to C6). We see it on a fairly regular basis ourselves.

The ID (Y683, etc) simply tells you the type of connection, and does not indicate anything about the "static-ness". For example, any wormhole from a C2 to a C4 will be Y683 on the C2 side (and K162 on the C4 side, of course). Any C2 to HS connection will be B274, regardless if it is a static or rogue/random/wandering.

I've noticed (I know anecdotal) a much higher incidence of "Random/rogue/wandering" holes in the C2/C3 I base of out. We've always gotten them. But the lsat month or two has seen an noticeable increase. Though RNG being RNG it's probably just a stroke of RNG "luck" so

FTFY

actually only C1-3 get them.
C5-6 can get wandering kspace holes but not periodic statics. (the wanderings they get are never static holes.)

We had seven statics two days ago. Now it's back to normal.
