No it isn't, I happen to like the new launcher, much better than what I had before, you have an option to launch the exe directly bypassing the launcher, don't use it then.

I always wanted a corpse launcher, and now I got it. Please don't take it away.

Please stop posting your "personal opinion" as fact.

Btw, in keeping with Steam and vanity items, can we get achievements added to the launcher? k thanks.

Thats all I need to know.

Eve now takes much much longer to launch. If launcher is up and not relaunched before an update is downloaded it crashes. Junk Bloatware, Reminds me of Windows ME trying to load adobe products. Nothing on my machine is as bad come to think of it. Agree with OP. Keep working CCP.


Please back up your statement with proof of Blizzard or WOW (you seem unsure which as noted by your use of a disjunction in your unbacked claim) k thanks.

Because it only circumvents the problem — it doesn't solve it. It's also not a universally applicable method, especially since it's a method that will eventually be patched out.

In the end, if they're really going to go down this path, they need to make the launcher really work and it needs to work at least as well as previous incarnations of the login system. It has a long way to go before it gets there…

Why don't the people complaining about me hitting then into the face all the time just take morphine to ease the pain?

Just because there is a workaround does not mean the real issue has to be ignored. If you just don't care and rather wait with the complains until they remove the workaround, feel free to do so. But why would you discourage people that actually care NOW because they see it coming?

Millia, you may NOT have access to my logs. I think it was an AV or similar log. besides, I just cleared out logs of all sorts. It would be easier to disassemble it if I was so inclined but I'm not. If I've roused your curiosity, take it apart yourself but I could be wrong also. Your just looking for text in hex but it doesn't concern me enough nor do I have time for anything more than lame troll attempts. Did our Georgia division put it together also? I don't think it would go over well to publish CCP code for any reason.

Let's say you bought a car, and the ignition system didn't work well. So, will you settle for hot-wiring your new car to get going, or are you gonna call the car manufacturer and file a complaint to get it fixed?

If you say, you'd rather hot-wire the new car to get it started, then by all means, put the exe shortcut on your desktop.

Um bad analogy.....

Lets say i have a car that has worked fine with the keys since i brought it, one day while getting a service the car company installs a remote central locking bleeper and that fails all the time and i have to use the keys anyway.

"Use the bleeper its more convenient" they say, "i would but it doesnt always work so why bother at all?" everyone else says.

Have you missed the fact that the exe file method is going to be removed?


I haven't read anything about future plans for the launcher. The solution I use is good for what I want to do. I hope it remains possible to bypass the launcher but as it's likely this option will be removed at some point, I also hope they fix the launcher. I have multiple accounts and I have highly skilled alts on those accounts.

Account switching is something I do a lot and I'm sure this is the case for others too. I hope CCP take that into account when developing the launcher.

I don't get this statement. This launcher is much slower and requires more steps ( mouse clicks ) to launch a new instance than the exe file.

Exe method
1. Click on shortcut
2. Select dropdown list of accounts
3. Enter password

New method
1. Click on launcher window
2. Click link to switch characters
3. Select dropdown list of accounts
4. Enter password
5. Click launch account

So, 2 more steps, and the launcher is slower to launch the client to boot.

If it remembered the screen position of any account's client I'd love it.

Currently it does nothing special that the old launcher didn't do already... besides make my heart drop when I thought all cache crap was gone forever.

Can't wait to dual box my Dust toon and EVE toon on the same machine!

I guess I have the opposite experience, the launcher is slower for me. Also, having the launcher open isn't really much of an advantage. It just consumes real estate on the taskbar. Also, double clicking on the exe file (always visible, since I run all clients in windowed mode is quite quick).

Anyway, did I miss a post where CCP said they were going to re-engineer this awful interface?

I can't login to other servers now. I'm stuck on Tranquility, thank you CCP for now allowing me to only access one server, I used to love going on Duality and Singularity.

Stop doing it wrong then? People are still logging into both of them, last time I checked.
