I don't care what anybody says, this is the most fun I have had since the Sansha live events.

Now I'm trying to train up a PVP alt with maximized effect with as little SP as possible (cheap clones you see), just like so many forum posts that I have seen saying that people should do just that.

Of course it would be kinda wrong to have over 70 million SP and be telling noobs with less than a few million to do this. But who knows what I'll do.

Simply put, what I am doing now, after 7 years in the game, is what I should have done had there been proper guidance. There was no guidance, and the propaganda and false paradigms of "the way nullsec works" is what channels people into these ruts where they think they need tons of SP and ISK to 'go to null' or 'get started in PVP' - the usual cliche we see all of the time in the forums and corporation chat.

Yes it's nice to be a skillhore (I can't stand those little green check marks) that can do a lot of things, but that's not the design of the SP system.

Whoever it was that set up these lies, knew beforehand they could conquer the game not by waging war of attrition but by putting the minds of other players in a cage.

When we consider this, we have to look into how nullsec was conquered: by selling the same carebearism on which highsec is blamed for being the scourge of all things Eve. This is why there are carebears on both sides of the "Great Wall of Carebear".

And this is why nullsec is set up for more epic butthurt than any "Hulkageddon" or "Burn Jita" event ever devised.

Because if highsec allied loosely enough not to be decced and noob-harvested, and simply did what is being recommended in this thread, it would be an exercise in the sort of asymmetric warfare that has broken many real world armies in the past.

But all warfare is economic, you see. When you are in a Rifter with say, 6 million ISK invested, and someone who went to nullsec to run anoms in their Tengu has to chase you down, they might get you. But it takes time.

Now, in the time it takes to catch Mr Rifter and pod him back to highsec, how much ISK would you have made if you could have peacefully carebeared it up running anoms out there in nullsec?

That Rifter cost you way more than it did the person who was flying it.

And that person you podded will be back.

You wanna be a pirate? You wanna grief? You wanna gank? Why are you in highsec? Why are you camping in lowsec? Maybe you might drive a noob out of the game. So what. There will be more of them. If you don't drive the noob out, he'll know better than to end up in your gate camp again, or go AFK with that hauler. Then you'll be here, in these forums, complaining to CCP and asking for idiotic things to arbitrarily force other players into your camp.

Oh I know, you "gotta get your stats up" before some nullsec entity will recruit you becase some idiot says so. That idiot will see green or red and not see hapless noobs in rookie ships, haulers, etc. You might look leet to the stupid. To the rest of us who see through this crap, you look stupid. They put you in a little hamster wheel and you gleefully ran in it.

Fact is, you got told that highsec is "the problem" by the people who lord it up in nullsec and desperately want to maintain the paradigms that highsec is your enemy, that it's unfair, that they deserve to be griefed and ganked for being carebears.

If you fell for it, you were a tool. You were shooting the wrong people. Take a deep breath and admit you got fooled.

It does not matter one bit what "sandbox/litter box" play you foist on highsec because someone told you they have it too easy there. Like I said, you might drive a noob out of the game. Big deal.

But it does matter that, if the grief/gank thing is your speed, you can make a world of difference on nullsec. No, you won't die in a fire in two minutes, and if someone drops a cap blob on your destroyer group you already won. It means you got their attention. A Tengu fleet (players who may have wanted to go out there to rake in the ISK) chasing a wolfpack of Rifters is an admission to being butthurt.

But if you don't want targets that can shoot back, then at least admit it, and keep camping that gate in Amamake or Old Man Star in hope that some noob jumps in. We really laugh at those rookie ships and month-old pods on your killboards.


The best part of all of this is that because we are NOT playing station games and aggro fu (which many say they are forced to because CCP likes carebears or something) , because we did not fall for the lies of "you get ganked/hot dropped by the big alliance in 2 minutes!!!1!! run!!! Marsha Marsha Marsha!!!!" , we are actually getting 1on1 fights and small gang fights.

Yes, these "holy grails" of PVP that everybody complains they can't get any more. I had a nice Rifter versus Corax (died) and Breacher versus Rifter (ran off with a boatload of adrenalin) encounter in this endeavor, and then nearly got trapped at Mittanigrad but careful SS positioning saved the day. Not bad for a noob character with no cloak (seriously guys, those Sisters Combat probes are wasted on you - do you want me to teach you how to use them?) . I expect to die. This is Eve: expect to die.


It's not the mechanics of the game, it's not CCP trying to turn Eve into "WoW in space", it's the lies, the false paradigms, of "how nullsec works". It's the impressions that "he who has the most ISK wins". It's this "Eve is all about doing X, Y, Z and profit? and any deviation is fail".

Bullshit.


Get a ship, get out there. Shoot. I am watching both noobs with less than 5M SP and experienced players with expensive rigs (Russians, by the way - they actually do PVP of the sort with "P" on both sides of "V" and are adults about it) getting into some great fights. Some win, some lose. It's a game after all, so let's start acting like it.

Where do you come up with this noise? Hi sec people can't even run incursions without tons of drama.

I dabbled in incursions a bit both before and after the vangaurd nerf.....it made null sec drama seem tame

Every time there's leet gear players bring drama. It's why the newer PuRs in WoW don't have group loot anymore. They all get a goodie bag, and roll against themselves for loot now -- and look mom, no more ninjas too (a mechanic LONG needed in MMOs, as the loot dramas are ridiculous)!
