Sup all,

Anyone happen to know the rules (in terms of copyright and such) for using EVE to make Machinima films? Currently looking at making a film using EVE for space battles and the Quake Engine for ship/station interiors, completely for fun and totally non-profit of course! The script wouldn't be following EVE lore, though - just the visuals for ships and such.

Cheers!

I suggest you check out the "Clear Skies" series, as they sound quite similar to what you are discussing (although they used Valve's Source engine). Also look at "Future Proof" for another example of EVE machinima, although it an entirely in-space video and did not use the actual EVE client for filming (can't remember what it did use, though).

CCP has certainly never been shy about accepting, at times even promoting fan films; I suspect the "rules" are the standard "Don't try and profit from our IP, and we won't have a problem."
