I find myself reading many topics where i end up scratching my head why people hate having options

1) the launcher sucks. Why not keep the exe file around rather than remove it like ccp said theyd do? Some people like exe...options are good

2) done launch and drone engage(for mining repair etc) should have shortcuts. If u dont want to use those or launch drones results in random drones launched then dont use the shortcut...options are good

3) some guy wanted to change size of fitting window. Bunch of people started in how it shouldnt or doesnt need to be changrd. Let us taylor that window. Options are good

4) Afk mining doesnt need to be removed from the game. Gives people something tp do when they cant engage fully in eve(work, family). Dont nerf afk careers. Options are good

Old vets....loosen ur sphyncters. Options are good. Things dont have to stay the same for 10 years...options are good and ur prefered....whatever isnt the only way

no, but the majority of them are at least worthy of consideration.

reading on this forum the past 2 weeks or so, i get the impression that a lot of eve players are vigourously opposed to any additions to the game that don't directly lead to everyone getting pewpewed.

i could easily be mistaken on this though.

Some options may not seem to harm game play, but they do anyway just by being there.

When it comes to CCP's side, putting in options is all about development time.

Many of the things you guys want aren't nearly as simple as you think.

The drones thing is already being worked on though. CCP really wants to overhaul drones both interface wise and mechanics wise. Best estimate for anything would be Odyssey 1.1 and they been keeping it a secret. Otherwise I;d guess it'll be in the inter expansion.

All options lead to more complex code and more complex code leads to more possible bugs and makes the code harder to maintain and upgrade.

So actually, options are almost always bad.

CCP Greyscale: As to starbases, we agree it's pretty terrible, but we don't want to delay the entire release just for this one factor.

They add to the code base, that need to be maintained, and they take time to implement.

Yes, please lets ask CCP to waste precious programming resources on a scalable fitting window. There is nothing else that could be done for this game anyway.

given choice between refining the game and adding new content i was reading how most players preferred refinement. A scalable fitting window, leaving exe file alone is hardly breaking ccps programming schedule.

1) It's there. The exe has always been in eve\bin\ExeFile.exe and it will be there.... it just isn't possible to remove it eith the coding they use

2) it's already being looked into

3) it works fine, looks nice, and it gives all the info needed, why tinker with it to break it when there's more important things to use dev time to

4) and retriever/mack isn't good for this why?

1/10 no thanks

fixing already existing content is not the same as adding useless options.

as fara s #4, several DEVs from CCP have stated they want to get rid of many AFK/passive incomes and convert them to mroe active activites, this would include things like mining and PI, and most likely giving them minigames and loot pinata mechanics (i do believe one dev even stated the loot-pinata was originally designed for a mining-mechanics change).

OP was basically saying that the professions that use these incomes are reliant on it being AFK, if because they arent able to commit their attention fully to EVE but still want to play, or that to make money in the career takes so long and is so repetitive that being forced to sit and do it would reduce its fun to absolute zero.

1) people are saying ccp is talking about removing it

2) thats good, but there are still people who fight against it saying its not that difficult to use drones now as if making the drone UI more streamlined doesnt jive in their world. usually they say launch drones would spew random drones so you cant have a launch drones hotkey. And they say mining drones having an engage type button would make mining more afk and thats bad in their opinion

3) someone was asking for the option to adjust fitting window as its too big and they need to move windows around while its opened.

4) because a certain percentage of people and CCP are leaning towards reducing afk options
