This is super cool, but are you sure 150% is large enough for players with really large monitors? Why not have 200% and maybe even 300% too, just in case?

Blog said that you get larger options if you have better resolution. Developer used 1920x1200 screen which can only support 150% (1024x768 scaled 150% is 1536x1152).

However 2560x1440 screen is able to support upto 187% scaling. For 300% scaling you need 3072x2304 or better resolution. Shocked

We decided to cap it at 150% because scaling it larger makes some icons look fuzzy.

150% is plenty anyways Big smile
Awesome,

Mind adding 80%. I wanna test lower resolution + smaller scale to see if this could potentially be a good work around for lower performing computers.

I.E: instead of 1600x1200 @ 90%

Go at 1280x1024 @80 <-- this should yield far better performance but fit as much on the screen as the 1600x1200 @90.

It's a trick commonly used in other video games.

I appreciate this feature greatly.
While different scalings at the same time are out of question for the winter expansion, would it be possible, to bind shortcuts to specific scalings? Like, I want to browse the market and with one click I can load an appropiate scale, but for space action, I want a different scale and dont want to dive into the options whenever I (un)dock.

I wonder when we will get more customisation options.

The UI was updated several times, but yet the buttons look the same way as they did in 2004/2005 and personally I would like to see the 3D buttons of the butterfly effect and tyrannis videos ingame.

larger fonts and whatnot are cool.

BUT my biggest issue is the size of the actual 'overheat' tab on the top of overheatable mods.

it's this small, little green slit. is there anyway to make that, and that alone, much larger?

or better yet, make the distances, top and bottom, between modules greater (sort of like using the control button to change the relationships between all probes), then make the green tab actually protrude more from the actual mod.

this would make it much easier to select. it's such a pain to try and hit it now, i often windup missing, then hitting 2x and accidentally turning it off. as long as you're doing the rest, please take a closer look at this.

thanks!

any word on the neo neocom features coming back?

Most people really wanted the features. : (

also epic UI scaling. : )

^This really needs to be reiterated. We saw a preview of the /shiny NEW UI some months ago, what's the word on its development? The preview got me excited in my special place.

As a multiboxer, all of these UI changes are great but we need a way to save the UI. I want to load the same UI on all my toons or heaven forbid I should need to clear my cache and have to redo the UI all over again for each acct if not each toon.

proof why you shouldn't pull a feature without actually getting feedback on the final design. Unless it turned out there was no way they could make it vertical *which was promised* There is no excuse for pulling the neo neocom.

would it be possible to handle it on a cloud system ccp? So the UI layout is tied optionality to the account instead of to my computer?

Being able to scale various parts of the UI differently would be really cool but will definitely not be done for winter. Great idea though :)

EVE's current UI has been designed based on a certain fixed font size. For a UI to properly work with scalable fonts requires the design itself to take that into account from the start.

Therein lies the problem - eve is essentially a windowing system game, but you guys don't have the resources to make a decent GUI programming environment from the ground up. You'd be better off customising something like QT, and getting all the nice UI features for free.

This is nice but it looks like an enhancement to an already out of date system. I question whether this is a sustainable path for CCP.

Wait. What is this? What is this strange feeling? I feel as if... CCP actually listened to me. A scalable UI. Who'd of thunk it?

I'd like to support the sentiment to scale different parts of the UI separately.
I understand that doing so wouldn't make the winter expansion, but here is a suggestion.

Don't scale the HUD in the winter expansion with the rest of the scaling. I don't want it taking up more space-- it displays icons mainly, not text, and the icons are very distinguishable, even when made *smaller* than they are.

.. so don't scale the HUD in the winter expansion!

Very nice to finally have this happen dear devs !

Is there any chance you could change the minimum resolution to allow for 2 client windows to happily coexist side by side on a 1920x1080 resolution screen ?

Currently it almost fits.
