The Launcher Still Sucks

I'm loving the launcher. Much easier to get into the game!

I start it, it patches, i play. Doesn't give me any issues.

Try running it on a PC. I don't think Eve supports the One Laptop Per Child platforms.

Ive had numerous problems with it recently.

When it fails i use the direct eve.exe method.

some times the launcher bugs out and i cant even enter my details, i pasted the weird error text before but no one cared.

you know you can go in to the launcher settings and have it stay open. This way you just exit client > hit play to go back to character select without reentering passwords.

Having an issue with the launcher today. It's stuck on "Installing Files" despite the fact that my game is fully updated. Thank goodness for this backup exe in the bin folder, or I wouldn't be able to update my skill queue in time. x_x

Using double "tab" to insert username and another "tab" for the password followed by a simple press of the "enter" key to login (incase you have multiple accounts). That's I would like to see again like it has been before. Now i have to press the tabulator key 25 times exactly, through the other containers of the launcher, to move the cursor from the password form to the username form.
I know I can use the mouse instead, which I have to do now, but I liked the function because it's fast and I am a shell guy.

So, I would like to see the other containers inside the the launcher are just clickable by mouse and not selectable by keyboard.
It's more of a suggestion than a complain.

Please can you allow us to enter our account details along with saved passwords so that launching is a matter of clicking 'Launch' and that's it.

For bonus points allow multi accounts to be saved and launch them all on the 'launch' button

I would start to think they were sort of lame at what they're doing if they didn't Iterate on in

Given that they have internal numbers on how many people have alts, and I'm assuming that it might even be a majority of players who have played more than 6 months that have more than 1 account.. I'd think they'd iterate on the launcher.

Whether they kluge that and just make it remember the passwords until the launcher is closed or x numbers of hours later, or whether they actually keep you sort of logged in when switching characters, It would certainly be nice not to need to sit up straight and put both hands on the key board to switch characters...especially with my launcher on a monitor that ends up being over my left shoulder when I have my feet up on my desk in R&R position ; )


ALERT !

I do NEED (to feel secure) some kind of SMS verification I can turn on when the account is being logged into from other than my normal , SMS-code-verified computer.


I'd -like- (not quite need) to consolodate my accounts under one name , in some shape way or form .. subject to people smarter than me pointing out why the security risk of this might not be worth the convenience of it. It is a bother logging in and out to change api's etc.

The launcher does not cause issues for me, but it's nevertheless annoying.
I want the ability to easily restart the client without leaving another memory-using application open behind the already-bad-for-my-laptop main game.
I want a login screen.
I don't really want to have to download updates for the updater.

Blatant alt posting? In my EVE? It's more likely than you think.

The launcher is really bad. It isn't bugged for me, it is just the design is horrible if you have more than one account.

Does CCP have any plans to redesign the launcher?

Mac users were upset on the July 11th when the new launcher comes onto the Mac.

I think Mac users were happy until it got annouced then stuck on their computers.

I'm fairly certain the launcher can remember your account name so you'd only have to type in the password to log in.

…unless it bugs out and refuses to do just that, which is a fairly common issue. Sometimes it can be fixed by clearing the user cache; sometimes, it can't (which indicates yet another bug).
