I have been thinking about my life now as a capsuleer, so much has changed in such a short time that it is difficult for me to put into words nevermind explain but i shall do my best.

My name is Vaako Omaristos, the 3rd son of Valrious and Rena Omaristos. Being the 3rd son of House Omaristos is not as easy as uneducated people think, you are constantly politicking against people who you don't really care about and don't even get me started on social gatherings.

Honestly how we don't have a higher suicide rate is beyond me - if i have to hear about someone's son doing blah blah blah i might have to jump off a cliff.

That is the problem of being a member of a moderately powerful family, and that means powerful and wealthy enough to get a good career and being on the social ladder, but not that powerful to be given any real responsibility.

Don't get me wrong we have always contributed to the Empire and we haven't shirked our duty to God either, but i just prefer it when i am not in danger of becoming dead of boredom or any equally socially induced fate.

The unfortunate thing about my Father is that he want to improve our standing so now i am in training to become a Captain of the fleet, which will prove exciting to the say the least.

Training has been interesting, it is disconcerting to not know how to pilot a vessel and when you wake up you instantly know how to use it. Being in a pod is strangely comforting, until they podded us for experience purposes.

Space maybe vast beyond measure but i think every inch is beautiful, if ever people needed proof of God then they need only gaze upon the stars to know He exists. It has been a sobering experience to realise how small you actually are in relation to the universe.

I am off to patrol asteroid belts to get used to flying and also a small taste of combat might be on the cards.

Until next time

((Let me know if this isn't meant to be something that could be replied to.))

Alternatively, you could do what you want to do, given you are going to out-live your parents and the rest of your family. I understand honouring the ties to your family, but that must be reciprocated, and it looks as through your father is forcing your hand for his own political gain.

However, I know tradition runs deep in Amarrian veins, so the best of luck to you and hope you don't find your ship in my crosshairs.

((the more replies the better. i am intending to make this a series perhaps not every day but maybe once a week))

Doing what i want is unfortunately not an option for me. The Navy is a strong career and this way i can protect the Empire and serve as an instrument of Gods Will.

Welcome to Space.

I have faith you shall do well in the structure of the Navy, and, perhaps, not attend as many gatherings which require the pomp and curcumstance which you were once accustomed to.

I shall not promise those events do not happen, however, as my collection of gowns as a Capsuleer is somehow larger than it was before.

A place for everything and everything in it's place, as it's said.

"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.  And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all."

Brother,

Being the third child of a 'moderate' house can certainly be trying, but you owe it to yourself to show some decorum and carry yourself with dignity and respect.

Whining to an audience of millions does not become you. Stand up for yourself, embrace your new position, and reach for the stars.

Speaking as one from similar circumstances, albeit mine is a more military family i wish you well in your career. I shall take note of your name and if in future i see you're combat reports cross my desk i shall be sure to pass along a good recommendation to future CO's you would serve under.
On that note being a battle weary veteran i will give you this advise; Never back down, God is on your side. He fills each particle fired from your guns. And as a Pod Pilot, never forget you will loose ships, and with that crew, whether it be 1 or 1000 there will be loss of life aboard your vessels, so after a loss pray for those that have been taken to assure god they died nobly and in his name.
