About Sean Decker and Microtransactions, and CSM. Does the whole player base feel the same?

Just an ideia

If you wanna know what do people that don't speak english think maybe you shouldn't ask in english

*sigh* This is probably where I failed.

I assumed that someone who could read, write, and speak one of the other languages could take a quick look at the other forums to see what their take on these matters were, then come back here and let us know. However, I was gravely mistaken. I assumed others would understand that was what I was asking, but based on the responses I got, I don't think anyone has actually read my post.

We read your post, but it wasn't clear that's what you were asking for. It sounded more like you were worried that players that didn't speak english weren't getting the same info as english speakers, and that their thoughts weren't being heard. As I said before, the blogs are translated in to the other languages, and they also have CCP community managers.

As to the CSM, I don't believe you have a solid grasp on what they do. Perhaps head over to Jita Park and read up a bit.

All the Chinese, Japanese, Malaysian, Hindu, Korean, and basically every player who does not speak English has written me to say they love EA, they love this new guy, and they hope micro transactions come to Eve as soon as possible. However, they have all pointed out that this fellow was not hired to work on Eve and that he has not yet pointed to any new direction for play in Eve. He thinks the idea that CCP would hire somebody with microtransaction experience might be a good thing for Dust, since, guess what, Dust does include microtransactions. Oh, and most non-English speakers think you should get over yourself and wait for some real information.

I just realized that all of these conversations and issues are done in English. What do the Russians, Chinese, Japanese, and other non-English speaking players think of Sean Decker formally of Electronic Arts?

I suppose you would have to ask our Chinese, Japanese, and Russian CSM members.

Those on the forums aren't the normal players. Normal players just play the game. Those on the forums are either trolls, special interests or trying somehow to get a better game. Most players just ignore the game forums anyway because of the drama.

CCP don't run their hiring decisions past us, you may be shocked and appalled to learn. Being "unpaid game designers" keeps us busy enough without being unpaid HR as well.

At such time as Mr Decker starts making decisions that materially affect EVE and in the event we think those decisions should be brought to the attention of the players, we will use such multilinguicity as we possess to do so as widely as possible.
