Regarding Seriphyn Inhonores

Honoured capsuleers,

On the 14th of May, Youil year 112, the system of Vevelonel was attacked by forces belonging to Sansha's Nation, during a wider campaign that involved the abduction of planetary populations. This conflict saw the creation of a True Slave capsuleer known as Slave Heavenbound02, of whom is theorized to be an amalgamation of the late Rhea and Jaidon Heavenbound, the former fiance and infant son of our sole capsuleer citizen, Seriphyn Inhonores. Since then, we became aware of a virus-type anomaly pervading Seriphyn Inhonores's implant faculties, believed to be a form of Sansha information warfare targeting Seriphyn specifically. It would persist regardless of swapping out implants or changing clones.

Over time, we learnt that the virus-type anomaly would 'insert' itself into Seriphyn Inhonores's cybernetic regimes by exploiting a neurochemical imbalance onset by any manifestation of emotional distress or disturbance. Thoughts of the late Rhea and Jaidon Heavenbound would be particularly troublesome in offering a 'weak point' for the virus-type anomaly. In extremely severe cases, Seriphyn Inhonores would exhibit symptoms associated with severe psychosis as the virus-type anomaly would begin to overrun Inhonores's cybernetic faculties. There have been two recorded cases of this occurring since 112. As both Seriphyn Inhonores and Slave Heavenbound02 are connected to New Eden's capsuleer communication network, we theorized that the former would continuously engage in a form of cyber-psychological warfare targeting the latter. CONCORD has remained in close contact with us since 112 regarding this, firstly via the Federation military and now through the Elusenian government.

On the 9th of July, Youil year 115, a third case of psychosis onset by the virus-type anomaly occurred, more severe than any other case prior. We were unprepared for this, as Seriphyn Inhonores had demonstrated increasing levels of stability and a gradual return to normality since his honourable discharge from the Federation military earlier this year. As a result, extremely drastic measures were required to prevent mindlock or worse. Our greatest fear was the assimilation of Seriphyn Inhonores into Sansha's Nation. Ultimately, we decided to forcibly remove his capsuleer implants. The risk of permanent death was far from negligible, but thankfully this was not the consequence. Seriphyn Inhonores has instead been forced into a deep coma, the nature of which is so unknown to us at this time that we have no indication when, and if, he will awaken from it.

We do not know what caused the lowering of Seriphyn Inhonores's neural defences to a point that allowed a full-scale attack by the Sansha anomaly, and it is becoming increasingly likely that we never will. This is because the capsuleer implants soft-wiped themselves upon their forcible removal from Seriphyn Inhonores, which included all data and information logs associated with his Neocom. Elusenian authorities will nonetheless carry out an investigation in accordance with the principle of due process. If you have any information, we would be in your debt.

This is a tragic and unfortunate development that wounds everyone in the Elusenian republic deeply. What makes us exceedingly remorseful is that we have recently come to understand that a not insignificant number of other capsuleers suffer from similar issues with their cybernetic faculties. If Seriphyn Inhonores or the Destiny Foundation had reached out to these individuals sooner, this may have never come about. Alas, our focus on the development of Elusenia, combined with Seriphyn Inhonores's apparent return to normalcy, allowed us to become negligent.

While I understand my son was not the most positively reputed capsuleer in the independent community, we ask for your blessings nonetheless, as his twelve-year-old daughter, Anette Inhonores, must continue her adolescence motherless and fatherless. She was, without a doubt, a focus of all his efforts. We hope that one day, Seriphyn Inhonores will awaken to continue his passions with the same love and fervour as he did before.

Honoured capsuleers,

With the unfortunate incapication of Seriphyn Inhonores comes the castration of Elusenia’s sole means of interstellar influence projection, as well as a reliable source of income from the ISK/SCC market. Nonetheless, the Serenissima Respublico of Elusenia will continue with its goals, and will not falter in fulfilling the vision of the Inhonores family now shared by those who now proudly call themselves Elusenian.

The 840 million ISK held by Seriphyn Inhonores has been inherited by the Destiny Foundation to be used in the ongoing development of the Elusenian republic. Starships belonging to Seriphyn Inhonores and other such assets have been impounded by CONCORD, and will remain as such until a time the Elusenian government pursues appeal.

Blessings,

Despite my misgivings about the guy, I found myself for the first time in a long while speechless when I read this.

I don't really know what to say. If I can do something, I dunno what, but something, let me know...

I'm sure the Dear General only requires the proper stimulation to rouse him from his wounded slumber.

You listening, dear? *wink*

I meant another little message from Heavenbound of course.

Sounds like one of the infamous Sansha fail-safe systems. Poor man, no one deserves to be rendered into such state. And who's to say if he does awaken that he isn't already completely assimilated? One does not simply circumvent Sansha tech.

We would like to extend all of the support that our biomedical and cybernetics facility is able to provide to Mr. Inhonores. Our facility is well positioned to assist and, with any luck, help him recover from this tragedy. We have a crash team waiting to get him.

Please come back, Seriphyn. You are loved, more than you think. I'm so very sorry.

Well you seem to have access to the IGS, so I'm guessing the SCC market shouldn't be too difficult.

As to Seriphyn's alleged infection from Nation. It seems one of those little attention seeking exercises he likes to do, much like his arrest a few months back. I'm sure he'll be back on his feet in no time to gloat over his princess or whatnot.

Have fun, Seriphyn. Heavenbound sends her regards.

As per our agreements with Destiny Foundation, Ishuk-Raata would like to extend whatever help we can offer in his speedy recovery. We have business to be done.

Whilst I could barely tolerate the man and believed him to be a toxic influence on those with whom he associated, nobody deserves to die like this.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

I Enjoyed conversing with Renowned War Hero former Luminaire General Seriphyn Inhonores, and Met him on Several Occasions, where he was Friendly and Agreeable Company.

You're right about the first part. He was a toxic individual whose stupidity was outstripped only by the charisma with which he managed to infect so many others with it.

The second part, however, you've got terribly wrong. He certainly deserves to die like this. Moreover, he deserves to go on living like this.

I can think of a great many people, some infomorphs and some humans, who deserve this and so much more.

There's no point kicking the man when he's in a Sansha induced coma, is there? I mean, he's out of the capsuleer business for good.

I had very limited contact with Seriphyn Inhonores as there was discussion of how he could help the Ebon Rose. Without dwelling on what he has done, my sympathy goes out to his family and loved ones.

Should Destiny Foundation or Elusenia require aid or assistance, the Order's doors are open to them.

And that, as they say, is that.

There are capsuleers who were in comas and recovered. There are capsuleers who've been infected with Sansha technology and were stabilized.

I didn't have any contact with Inhonores and only knew of him via his IGS postings but, to those of you who've come to this thread to insult, troll or otherwise ridicule the poor man I say that you should be ashamed of yourselves. I may not hold a high opinion of him but, I agree that no one (short of perhaps sociopathic mass killers) deserves to suffer as he has and die in this manner.

If my services are appropriate at any time during this tragedy do not hesistate to ask.

"I say that even as the holy and the righteous cannot rise beyond the highest which is in each one of you - so the wicked and the weak cannot fall lower than the lowest which is in you also.  And as a single leaf turns not yellow but with the silent knowledge of the whole tree, so the wrong-doer cannot do wrong without the hidden will of you all."
