Data sites - Lack of Faction BPC's

How common are they for you? In the early days of Odyssey i got 4 (3 small batteries, 1 medium). Not too exciting but better then nothing. But for the last 2-3 weeks i didn't get a single one even tho i cargo scan most data sites that i come across. I guess it's because everyone has the same attitude, just scanning the sites but not running them anymore due to lack of decent loot so way less new ones spawn with potential for a bpc.

I only run sites in nullsec. Any nullsec explorers having more luck? How is the situation in low sec and hisec?

I've been doing the sites since the patch, but haven't received any faction BPC's. I usually get to run about 3-5 per night, so I have seen good volume of sites. I go ahead and clear relic/data sites even if there aren't faction BPC's since some isk is better than none.

In which security space do you explore? I don't run the data sites anymore because it's hurting my isk/h. The time it takes to hack containers only to get some cheap decryptors and bulky loot which i have to jettison i could be in the next system already finding a science outpost or crystal quarry. Only scan the data sites because i'm stubborn and haven't given up yet on finding a faction tower bpc.

Started exploring in lowsec yesterday again for sole purpose of finding faction bpcs. Found around 50 data/relic sites yesteday, scanned all containers, no faction bpcs.

I really ought to keep better records, but I'd estimate I'm pulling out one per 75ish sites? Not really "worth it" but it also doesn't take long to cargo scan a half dozen cans.

I really think hacking is worthless outside of null. in low/high you have either too much competition or too much crap in those sites, you are better off doing combat sites instead.

But in null, you can get in a covops, get almost no competiton and a good amount of the can will have something worth several millions at least. Faction BPC is the "jackpot" element of it, just like when you get the best overseer in WC or when you drop those highly-priced modules at the end of those combat site.

It dosen't happen often, but when it does, you are really happy about it. Exploration is, always were and will always be luck-based for the loot. Be happy than in hacking, you can know from the start of the site if you gonna get the jackpot or not.

I get this. Just wondering if anyone else noticed a decline due to how people have adopted to treat these sites after the decryptor crash. And wheter the faction bpc's are more common in low, high because i assume more ppl there still run the sites due to population density.

When Odyssey 1.0 was released sites despawned immediately so the ones you found always were fresh. Now it takes a while for despawn if anyone hacked a container at all. I suspect this has a negative effect on finding faction bpc's.

I probably opened just a hundred of those cans, in Venal, Null sec. Not a single faction bpcs. Only like 2-3 t2 bpcs. :\ Most of the isk I earn is t2 rig parts. Data is like, almost not worth your time doing ... You earn like, 5-10x more doing relic than data sites

Got a 3 run large AC BPCs yesterday in HS *shrug*
Use a cargo scanner to see if theyre there. If nothing of value, skip the site.

I would say 75ish sounds about right, i have found 1 small and 1 medium laser battery, and 1 small tower. In the the same period of time, i have probably found close to 30 T2 BPC.

The faction blueprints clearly has the lowest drop rate of all the loot types, but random is random you might get one in the next can or never seen on at all.

For what it's worth I've run a few hundred sites in high sec and never seen a faction BPC, or any form of jackpot loot. I've also a fair few in low sec and never seen any there either.

I'm a solo player, so exploration is a major source of income.

I live and explore in low sec and have run about 100 sites since Odyssey.

So far I've found only 1 faction bpc and about 20 regular bpc's.

Each site on average yeilds about 5-6mil, but it can range from 3m-15m.

I've noticed over the past 2 weeks, both data and relic sites have become more scarce in my area, not sure if it's an increasing Exploration population or not getting lucky with spawns.

Jackpot loot?, there are very few faction bpc in my region i would pick over 10 intact armor plates, they are not as jackpot as they seem.. and yeah you can probably link some +1B tower with -20% fuel... please dont...
