[Hacking] Mini Container Loot Distribution

I have noticed that the loot shown by using a cargo scanner can be quite different from what is actually in the can.

It seems that the low value items (red) are randomly placed in their respective containers (Hydrogen Batteries, Carbon, Data Sheets, etc).

I also found apparently empty cans even in 0.1 that when hacked gave a lot of those low value items. A lot of people are leaving those empty cans behind when running a site, but they can have a lot of crap in them.


And another thing: In the Data Sites, the "Pirate Faction Alloys" are not in the Material Container, but rather in the Parts Containers. I hacked cans with over 100 Alloys, gathered all the Material Containers and got ZERO Alloys. Someone else confirmed this?

PS: oh and T2 BPCs can indeed drop in low sec even in 0.4

Hey.

Sorry I was busy the last couple of days. I have changed Pirate Faction Alloys to Parts and added Target Breakers in Relic sites. Thank you guys!

Also: According to a fellow explorer who wrote me ingame, the flavour items in gas facility sites seem not to be contained in data but rather in one of the other container types. Can somebody confirm their correct distribution?

Found a T2 Capital-Rig BPC in a data-site yesterday. One of the most useless items in the game:

I'm still getting Pirate Faction Alloys in Materials cans.

Okay, so I assume they can be contained in both types, similar to the distribution of salvage in relic sites. Thanks for the report, have changed that.

Are wormhole drops similar to those found in null-sec/empire?

My main question is in regard to the BPCs for Towers, say the Dread Gurista Tower. Will these BPCs drop in wormholes or are they dependent on their respective region? ex. gallente nullsec, serpentis; caldari, dread guristas, etc. ?

Is it on me but the cargo scanner trick does not work anymore ?

I've got complete different loot then from what i got from the cargo scan Roll very odd .

I'm getting different loot that what I have scanned too (nothing important, getting 2-4M each Relic/Data site, is it normal?)

What about the faction structures it'sself? I've come across 2 of these so far on my cargo-scanner however I haven't been able to get my hands on one yet (I did have the needed cargo capacity). I can't remember which kind of site I was in the first time I saw one, but the second time I was in a data site. It didn't drop from data cans (there were only 2 of these spewed and I looted both of them).

Can anyone confirm seeing these on the cargo-scanner and preferably even give some more info about looting it if you had more luck than I had.

I've found and looted a faction tower BPC and several of the faction POS mods. As with every other BPC, I've only looted them in data cans. Unless something has changed recently (I've not had time to run sites the past few weeks) it seems like you may have missed a data can hiding someplace?

iirc it was a faction battery, but not a BPC according to my cargo scanner. The volume of the item was 500m³ so tbh I don't think it would be in a data can, rather an equipment-, part- or material can. So far I haven't been able to find any information about where this item could be in though.

Hi.

I would be really surprised if there can be actual POS structures in the minicontainers. I think you might either have made a mistake or maybe there's a rare bug with the cargo scanner results?

No offense, but I just think it's very very unlikely.

That's what I thought, especially because I think it's unlikely that there is an item in a mini container with a volume of 500m³... But my eyes don't lie, you know. First off all the icon of the item wasn't blue, but light-brown instead. Second it didn't give me any blueprint information when I pressed on show info, only the info of the actual item. So I went back to the site with a Maller that had a cargo expander fitted on it so my cargo would be bigger than 500m³ but I couldn't get a hold of the item itself. Next time I sure will make a print-screen and post it here. I'll also try the equipment boxes to see if I can get a hold of the item.

Basically the TLDR seems to be...

Data Site: Loot Data if you cargo scan a decent blueprint/book, otherwise loot Parts for Datacores/Decryptors.
Relic Site: Loot Parts and Materials for Salvage.

Leave the rest and eject it into space if you get any by accident.



Has anyone else noticed that the first Data Can you loot tends to have or even always has the blueprints?
