Man CCP those are some killer ships.Shocked Lucky guys who win this tournament. However I kind of feel that it's a waste of sorts that these are pirate ship. Would anyone ever pvp in them? I think the Chremoas is absolutely badass. Would it be possible to have something similar looking available as a tech 2 version of the dramiel? Obviously with reduced stats of whats available for the tournament as not to detract from the reward for winning but still better then the standard dram. Give your opinions but keep flaming to minimum.

I've been wondering if CCP are ever going to produce cloaky gunships that aren't T3s for a while now. Seems like, for the general circulation, the answer is no.

...saying that, the new Helios can put out ~100dps and gets a fair tank for a frigate that also has a cloak. Good for wolfpack ops.

T2 pirate hulls? heck no! Shocked

now if they released more hulls to the pirate lines it would in fact, a good content injection. the Moracha uses the Ixion hull, one of the most seen angel ships in the game (the pirate Kruul uses one).

it doesnt have sense that for example the guristas have several versions of both destroyers and battlecruisers, and we dont get to see those types of ships avaliable for players.

there are gurista versions of the ferox and the cormorant, another hull for the bantam and even a gurista osprey.

the angels have the same, they have the Medusa, the Hydra, the Ixion and the Echo as aditional models.

i dont understand why CCP doesnt complete the pirate ship lines, we have navy battlecruisers so it has sense we get also navy destroyers and pirate destroyers and battlecruisers.

lack of models isnt an excuse, they're already there, just that they have to add them as playable versions, maybe invent some new hulls for the Sansha which they actually lack models and the Blood Raiders too (too many Amarr versions and only 2 unique hulls).

but for the most part, the Serpentis, the Angels and the Guristas have a complete set of subcap ships.

So perhaps add another ship to the line that uses the Chremoas hull? Reduced stats but still a cov ops kind of ship.

I hear PL doesn't afraid to lose expensive unique ships.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

Whether the winner is willing to use them or not is pretty irrelevant, as there will be so few of them most players will never see one anyway. Fact is, they should be releasing "real" interesting content for pirates, to pirates. These ships themselves (with the stats they are likely to have) may be OP as they stand, but honestly the concept behind them is pretty fantastic and they should've considered stuff like this for, I dunno, a themed pirate expansion (for starters.) Something I've certainly seen numerous forum threads about in the past regarding expansions/low-sec love. It's just shortsighted of them to make hulls/ship-types like those so bloody limited they are more likely to collect dust in a collectors hangar then ever see the light of day.

Lol

For the record: Moracha is Spanish for 'dark purple'. What?

Chremoas is just an absolutely made up word, as far as I can determine.

Chremoas is a demon.

I just hope this sets a precedent for more cruiser sized black ops ships/cloaky boats.

That's a Templar, an Amarr fighter used by carriers.

I think the reason is power creep and a lack of a niche. "Faster, More Damage, More EHP!" isn't really much of a niche - it doesn't provide something that's really unique and special. The current line of pirate ships offer a few combinations that aren't typically available in the standard ship lines (for example, a shield tanked drone boat like the guristas line, or a shield tanked laser boat like the sansha line).

If you can think of a really good role that doesn't exist in the current line of ships then adding a new ship line could make a lot of sense, but just adding more ships for the sake of adding more ships doesn't really add a lot of value.

If by adding a ship the result is, "Why would you ever want to use old ships X,Y, and Z? A is clearly superior!" then it's a bad thing to add.

Right now CCP is working on balancing the ships we currently have which is already a big undertaking. Let's see what holes exist after that before we go ahead and add more things.

idk it seems like people losing expensive rare ships is kinda revenant these days...gets a lot of attention. and i personally think its a better game with people willing to risk those kind of rarities. better than a game where people just want more cov ops cloaks etc that are unnecessary and only serve to make things unbalanced and obsolete existing ships/roles. yes i like new things too but only when it actually makes the game better...something not easy in such a complex environment
