Hey guys,

I'm running

Windows 8 pro x64
AMD 9.6Ghz quad core
8GB Corsair gaming ram
ASUS M4N78 Pro Motherboard
Nvidia Geforce 8300

It runs seamlessly, I don't seem to have any stability issues, once the game gets going, its all smooth sailing. Bravo!

that being said...

I am having one HELL of a time with these updates, my computer fights it all the way, and I have to use the repair tool with EACH update. In conjunction with an update nearly every day since the release of Odyssey, I've become quite frusterated over that, and i'm fondly looking forward to the last bugfix.

On the other hand, my MacBook pro (10.5.8 outdated), flies through updates in no time flat, but it seems to have some issues with loading images in game. My Hyperion is just a rainbow, and my blueprint division looks terrible. haha, not a big deal it doesn't slow the game down any, and its probably due to my OS being out of date. just mentioning it.

Gigabyte GA-Z77X-UD3H - 1.0 - motherboard
Intel Core i7 3770 - 3.4 GHz
Corsair Vengeance - Memory - 16 GB : 2 x 8 GB
Gigabyte GV-R785OC-2GD - Graphics card - Radeon HD 7850 - 2 GB GDDR5
Corsair CX750M - Power supply ( internal ) - ATX12V 2.3/ EPS12V
Windows 8 - Licence and media - 64-bit

My friend made this setup (designed for gaming wich is what i do most) and even installed everything so I should be running the latest drivers

ever since i upgraded to this new setup (2 weeks ago) i've been having issues with the game freezing and i have to reboot to get it going again. it doens't matter what i am doing because it happens with everything (ratting, mining, undocking,...) at random times (sometimes with starting up, sometimes after ~30 min , sometimes after a few hours).
Its the same on both my accounts and even trying to multibox results in freeze everything
Tried running it on Windows 7, Vista and even XP but with same results

I bought this PC because my laptop barely made the mim. req. for the game (was running Vista with the graphics on low or turned of) but this never happened on the laptop

In the next few days I am going to be installing Windows 8 Pro as my system needs a reload. But I am keeping my Windows 7 install to fall back on.

Are CCP actually looking into making EVE more Windows 8 friendly since all the posts seem to have common problems.

I need to know as I also have customers buying new PC's that want Windows 8 and the question has come up a few times now. Also there is the issue CCP need to understand is that all PC's now come with Windows 8 if they did not self built, Windows 7 is not always an option any more. I know it is not your fault CCP but you guys need to sort something which im surprised no fixes where mentioned in patch notes since the issues go back past Dec 2012.

Keep us posted please CCP.

This is likely to be one of two things - not enough power being output by your PSU, or overheating/overclocking of memory (thermal problems or timing issues if you are overclocking).

1. Try powering off your PC completely. Reseat the memory and the graphics card if possible. Reboot and try again may solve the problem.
2. 750W should be enough, but it seems you have a beefy rig there, someone with more knowledge may know if 750W is enough.

Just installed Windows 8 last week. Whenever I close the client, it has major graphic issues, the colors turn neon, mainly pink, like a spectrum of rainbow. You can hardly make out anything. I've seen some with the pink screen graphic issues from Windows 7.

I'm using a fairly brand new computer (2 months old):
AlienWare
Intel i3 @ 3.30 Ghz
NVIDIA GeForce GT 545
8 Gb RAM
Windows 8 Pro

Didn't have any problems with Windows 7 until I upgraded to Windows 8 Pro.

Please help, any suggestions?

I have the same issue every time I close or tab out of game. Also, in game the graphics have a terrible blue haze over everything. Unplayable, been this way for over one year.

Using Intel HD4000 and GT240 in hybrid mode with Virtu virtual graphics. But it does the same thing with it off, just anytime it is connected to motherboard via Display Port it has the issue. EVE Online us the only game that is impacted.

I just purchased an ASUS N56DP laptop for general use and also to replace the XP computer I used to run my alt while my Windows 7 desktop ran my main. Unfortunately, when I attempt to launch EVE, the cursor changes to a spinning wheel for a moment, then goes back to normal and the launcher doesn't start. It doesn't launch when trying to run it from the executable in the main EVE directory, either. I have tried running it as administrator and also in compatibility mode for everything from XP to Win 7, and nothing has worked.

Laptop stats:

AMD A10-4600M CPU with built-in 7660G GPU
8 GB DDR3
Radeon HD 7730M running in Crossfire with the 7660G.
EDIT: OS is Windows 8

EDIT #2: Forgot to add that I've checked the task manager and there's nothing present as far as EVE processes.

Thoughts?

EDIT 06/26/13: I was browsing through the different folders in the EVE directory and discovered the standalone launcher updater. I ran it, it completed an update, and then I was staring at a functioning launcher login screen and logged in successfully from there.

I was able to play fine on Windows 8 until Tuesdays patch.

Now

my FPS is at 4 and EVE is completely unplayable.

I am running Windows 8 64bit
Intel Core i7 - 3770K quad core 3.5Ghz
32 GB RAM
Nvidia Geforce GTX 670

It began with difficulty in opening the game via the launcher, then inside the game it was simply uplayable.

I have updated every driver, tried rollback to older Nvidia drivers, updated PhysX you name it.

You are correct, not only do you not support Windows 8, in conjunction with your inability to get it to work properly with Nvidia cards (evidenced by your own insistence on throttling back to sort out colour issues) you now seem to have broken it completely.

Good Job
