CEP dissolves State Executor Position

New Caldari – In the wake of Tibus Heth's denouncement as a terrorist and his continued absence, the Chief Executive Panel has declared it will abolish the position of Chief Executor. It has additionally disbanded the Caldari Providence Directorate.

The office of Chief Executor, which had been created for and solely held by Tibus Heth, held broad dictatorial powers over the Caldari State. There were some pundits who believed a new executive would be given the role. Instead, the CEP stated, “The role of Chief Executor was at odds with the foundations upon which the Caldari State was founded. The megacorps are nothing without their shareholders and workers. Allowing a single individual the ability to dictate business decisions and direction within the State was a mistake that should have never been made. We will not extend that mistake into the future.”

The Provists, who have been in organizational chaos since the siege, are no longer a legal entity in the State. For the past several weeks they have mostly become inactive, as numerous individuals have denounced their membership. Those few holdouts who continued to serve their appointed duties were officially informed of the CEP's decision this morning and discharged from service.

The CEP has also reaffirmed the status of the Templis Dragonaurs as terrorists. Though they were never officially removed from the State's list of terrorist organizations, they maintained a close affiliation with the Provists and were increasingly being used in official capacities by the Heth regime.

Finally, the CEP reinstated the full powers of the Caldari Business Tribunal to adjudicate matters between the constituent corporations of the Caldari State. Its powers had been curbed by Heth beginning late last year, when several corporations took issue with his handling of the purge of 1st generation cloned soldiers.

Well, someone's seriously cleaning house.

I'm sure quite a few people will be celebrating in the aftermath of this announcement. I've already been forced to abandon a room due to the degree of cheering occurring.

I feel like a chapter has ended. A chapter that perhaps never should have been written. It is a bit confusing to me.

Well... Caldari will prevail.

I believe it was a necessary experiment - one that tested the values and traditions underlying the State. One that will not have to be repeated.

One man is not the State. We cannot make this mistake again.

And this is not just for the workers who catapulted the former Executor into his position, this is also for the Executives. They allowed this to happen, in fact they brought it to pass through losing their way. Nepotism. Corruption. These things cried out for a purging of the Executive class and whatever you think about Tibus Heth he carried out that purge, set meritocracy back in it's rightful place and finally jerked the Federation out of their denial over Home.

Sadly it seems that he lacked the vision to take us any further. I'm glad that the CEP has remembered that it is the body that leads the State and has finally put down a dog that had definitely had it's day.

For the first time since I started the conversation, he looks me dead in the eye. In his gaze are steel jackhammers, quiet vengeance, a hundred thousand orbital bombs frozen in still life.

Well, that's a good job done, then. Honestly, we should get rid of a lot of the power of the office of President as well.

When a society has as much access to rapid data-networking as ours (or really any of the others in the cluster) the upsides of strong executive leadership seem to fade before the downsides.

One does appreciate how the Caldari can keep their own house in order. If only all nations had developed that skill.

It is a good to see that things appear to be settling down within the State. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for Caldari.

CEP dissolves Provists eh?

Well, lets hope they're not going to follow Gallente ideas of excess, and do that literally, hmm?

Solid step in the right direction, glad to see the State getting it's affairs in order.

I certainly hope so. Regardless if they do or not, this is good news indeed.

It strikes me that Heth forgot the very lesson he wished the executive class to learn; that just as the worker owes loyalty and service to the corporation and the State, the corporation and the State owe loyalty and service to the worker.

It was this failure by executives that brought Heth to power; it was Heth's single-minded drive to war that caused him to fail in this task as well.

Let us hope the lesson was well learned, and that the State, forged in the fire of trial, becomes stronger than it was before.

And with this, another chapter in the book of History is closed. We'll see where the State goes from here on, but being back to its roots is always a turn for the better.

It's about time. That's a position that never needed to exist in the first place.
