Seriously if CCP wanted to give us Modular Poses, just make it that thing.

We were going to keep it to ourselves... then we realized that there is no way we could troll people with it because you need roles in the corp to steal from it. That would take spais which HK would never use since we are honorable space bros.

This is pretty dumb. I know POS code is still living up to its name (Piece of S***) but would it be unreasonable to expect CCP to apply the same mechanics to the SMA's that they did to the CHA's? You'd be able to access them (including board/store ships) from anywhere in the forcefield (wasn't this already promised before Odyssey? Still have to be 3000m from the SMA to actually swap ships) but would not be able to do so as soon as you left the forcefield.

As of right now, the CHA can be accessed as long as you are within a POS forcefield, so even if you placed a CHA at the edge of the shields someone who didn't have the password to your POS but was still in your corp would not be able to access it from the outside.

Odyssey had a lot of potential, but it was very half-assed.

Talked to the devs. CCP is aware of the issue and they are thinking about how to fix it.

Thanks for poking at this, Chitsa.

Having done some testing, I don't see any way to fit an XL SMA in a Large POS without it being accessible from outside of the shields. It takes a while to settle a frigate in to a location 3km from the module, but it doesn't appear possible to prevent.

The OP seemed to imply that it was possible. If so, I can't replicate the results.

Sorry I keep forgetting to update the first post. When we first found this issue, I had a slight desynch with my ship. It was showing me as 5k away from the mod. Once I relogged it showed me the true distance. Ill change the post now. Thanks for pointing this out.

More brokenness :-)

Well while fixing that, probably set them up to have tabs too (hell might as well).

Yaay!!!!

Have actually managed to lock one outside of the FF before - pretty much impossible to do if you do have FF access but if you don't theres a tiny little ~50m long section right up against the FF you can lock it when its positioned in the most forward position, roughly centered vertically, while still showing as inside the FF - if its in any other position thats still inside the FF you can't do that. Can't reliably reproduce it but I have managed it before.

EDIT: I've had some really messed up bugs with odessey tho, quite often I start up and no sound is working or sound will suddenly cut out mid playing and when that happens I get all sorts of random bugs happening that shouldn't be in any way related to sound, extremely bizarre i.e. when sound isn't working quite often tho not always warp to 0 dumps me at 40-50km instead which never happens at all when sound is working, makes no sense.

...can you shoot at it with the FF still up? If so, that's an *extremely* serious bug.

I never tried shooting it and its really hard to reproduce but I'd assume you can from the fact it was lockable - I've had so many random and bizarre bugs while having problems with sound (not sure if its just another symptom or cause) that its hard to know if its actually a problem with the POS code or a combination with some other bug.
