Hi all

Is there any posts / videos that shows how this module is used in the current PVE scene.

I have looked at various posts and although they say to fit the module on Domis, Geddons etc it does not explain how it is used to best effect.

Video links would be good, especially if there is commentary on what is being done.

Thanks

Buy one, fit it, undock and test it.

It's main use is to gain range for ships that have to stand still, which is only sentry drone using ships, other than that.it might be useful to pull range on faster rats.

Thank you for being so helpful.

I know what they do and the mechanics around them, just asking if there is a certain way to use it or videos showing its use.

You are welcome!!

It is how we all test a new module. You get active. At the end of your thread will you only know a little bit more and you said yourself that you have read some comments about it previously.

There is simply not much more to tell. Nothing then answers questions better than first hand experience.

Does anyone else have anything meaningful to add, maybe the best way to use it, missions it is better in, videos showing someone using it?

Thanks

Mostly you want to do is ensure your second jump puts you at the next gate. Jump UP or DOWN, as that most mission rats were laid out by a fairly 2 dimensional human, so you get less variation in ranges if you go up or down. You can probably play with the tactical display to help judge the jump angle doing that too.

The only other technique is to make your second jump 3 minutes before the pocket is over if at all possible, so that you have the drive available in the next pocket immediately.

There are obviously more details about which npc's you should pull first in order to keep your damage application later when making the early second jump etc, (or whether its necessary) but that all becomes so fit, mission and player specific that there is no point having a video.

I don't see the point of using them at all, the other side effect of the new patch is that the dominix can get by with 1 omni if shooting from the beacon, and can thus always fit an MWD for gate traverses, and it got a hefty dose of grid in the patch too, so its actually possible to fit it.

This should show it off reasonably well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7iL02ej_B4I

You go onto YouTube and enter "EVE Online MJD". You will get several videos.

Warp to mission. Point your ship away from the rats. Activate LMJD.
(I assume you already know how to use tactical overlay.)

For lvl 4 missions a LMJD is useful for newish players to survive the mission. For high skill/experience mission runners its not that useful in lvl 4 missions.

Its main use is to gain range and snipe down rats with long range weapons, or a gtfo button.

Pointing your ship up or down then jumping works quite well.

even for experienced mission runners the LMJD is useful since it allows them to fit even more gank onto their ship and clear faster

It has it uses, but once you have high enough skills I think it is mostly useless and a normal tank setup would be better.

that depends.....

I like mjd setups since you can go cheap on the tank. mjd out and it gets you a bit of time to get your reps not needing 400mil+ isk sb's/ar's before you take fire again. cheapish C types or even t2's can suffice.

Good if you like to avoid gank attracting fits imo.

I also like it do to limited game play time. I meet ROI faster on ships as its several hundred million less I have to make back to get the ship in the black.

Also makes pve more viable for less pve'y ships. Tried rokh pve in the past a few times and it was jsut meh. Gave it another go mjd fit and the rokh is pretty good now imo. But I am a missile burnout...the whole shoot and hit instant;ly is nice at 100km's. With raven (variants) and hml tengu's you have to have a good memory to remember salvo counts to not waste ammo when firing at range (this bc is 2, this bc is 3). ROF boositng on my hml tengu at max range I can burn ammo fast on unneeded salvo's.
