Mining lasers mismatch?

this is a minor graphics thing. I've only noticed it recently but I took a long break from mining so it could have happened earlier.

as far as I recall, on a barge/exhumer with multiple lasers, each turret button/key was mapped to a specific turret on the ship; for example, F1 might activate the forward laser, F2 the middle, and F3 the hindmost (e.g. in a Hulk). But lately it looks like each key activates a random laser (or if not random, following some logic I have not yet discerned); and sometimes, even with both lasers activated (e.g. on a Retriever), the beams are coming from the top and the bottom of the forward turret and the rear turret looks inactive.

not a huge deal, but just something I noticed, and who knows, maybe it's a minor symptom or unintended consequence of some bit of coding elsewhere?

There are six graphical hardpoints on the covetor/hulk, for three turrets, and AFAIK graphically it'll use the closest three to whatever you're mining. Same with guns.

not true for guns. you have two distinct hardpoints on the actual shipmodel for every turret (or even for every highslot?). A weapon module placed in one slot will always appear at the same pair of hardpoints on the model.
Furthermore: When firing, it is determined for every pair of turrets on the model corresponding to one module, which is nearer or has its line of sight not covered (and therefore shows the firing animaton).

right, and that's how mining lasers (used to?) behave. just like you wouldn't see both members of the weapon pair firing, I don't recall ever seeing both the top and bottom members of the (e.g. frontmost) laser firing simultaneously.
