Last I heard in 2011, this project was on hiatus but the creator was still kicking. Did some searching, but didn't turn up anything past that, so is it safe to say it's dead?

I check in on this project every so often as well and haven't seen anything new going on with it, which is a shame because he actually made some really good progress while he was working on it.

What was the name of the guy again? Is there some way to get in touch with him to see what's going on? I fee like all his work should be backed up and stored somewhere at this point in case any future modders want to pick up where he left off.

Well, the guy's screen name on Moddb, where the mod is listed is "Masterzog". No idea if that's his eve name or not. Also, looking at comments in the Youtube vids, another guy is "zatch0101", but that comment is 4 years old, so no idea if they're still around either. From what I gather there was actually a small team of modders working on it, so those are probably two different people.

Moddb link

Youtube link (expand comments, search for "zatch")

Edit: Also found their message board, but the last posts on it was from two years ago. I think it's dead, Jim....

Not really, since that was last updated in 2011.

If anyone knows a way to get ahold of the original author of this mod, I'd like to ask a favor: please see if he'd be willing to make all of his art and other modding assets he has public. It's quite obvious he has no intention of finishing the mod, and it would be beneficial to other modders out there to have those assets as a launching point.
