I wrote to support about this and filled a bug report. The answer was "It's not a bug, it's a feature. Server works fine!"

Hope they return this option though. I can't even imagine, what were they thinking. Seriously, what's the reason to remove this option? :) I hate this "snap" thing.

Let's just hope CCP isn't planning to go full economics over the game.

Dumbing games down to save on server costs and whatnot fits the aforementioned parameters.

In short: ability to set it to disabled or different distance was removed with odyssey and I am friggin stuck with snap to 10!

I just spent 10 minutes looking for the snap distance option thinking I was an idiot for not finding it. Why would they remove a feature that wasn't broken? Stupid. Really stupid.

The only way you can arrange windows now is to minimize those in way of snapping.

I'm sure it would be easy to bring this back.

Agreed, there's plenty of room left in the ESC menu and I can't imagine this slows performance, etc. Please bring back this feature CCP.

Also supporting this, although in the past I have tended to use the snapping feature (I don't like it though, and didn't think to check if I could turn it off - just may now).

I'd also like to echo negative comments made on the general dumbing-down trend of EVE (exploration/scanning, etc), and additionally note that I do not like the tendency to receive a "working as intended" or "this is a non-issue" response to every (or every other) petition. We've invested quite a bit in your product, and we have the right to decide what we like and don't like about it. Even if nothing is changed, I feel we deserve an explanation rather than a dismissal.

If it's coded right it can't slow eve down at all, it's momentary variable release that can't have any effect if windows arent moving around.

To be honest it would be enough if snap could be turned off temporarily. We don't need selectable distances but the part where you have to eyeball distances and minimize all other windows when you place the one you don't want snapped is irritating.

This is not OCD speaking. Not having some windows snapped is highly practical.
