Quafe: The Cure for Inflation?

Greetings, pilots!

My question is about how to protect myself against inflation. I had the idea the other day to simply convert ALL of my ISK into Quafe by buying up about 10 million units (around half a billion ISK).

Will buying Quafe protect me from long term inflation, like buying gold does in real life?

What are the risks and alternatives to "Quafing Up"?

Thanks,
Medo

If I am worried about the price of (e.g.) Battleships going up, then I could either spend all my isk on a cache of battleships ... or I could invest it all into something that is completely unrelated to battleships (Quafe).

difficult decision... Roll

edit: yeah,. maybe you don't know which exact ships you want to use in a year for now. But at the end of the day you are still predominantly worried about the price of minerals and moongoo.
So get a basket of minerals and moongoo that roughly reflects the quantities in which you expect to consume them and you will be safe from inflation.
What you are suggesting is the EVE equivalent of "I think the price of oil will go up, therefore I'll buy diamonds." no doubt, diamonds are awesome, sparkly and limited edition items but if you think the price of oil will go up, why not buy oil?
