well, the thing is that there are many many ppl complaining about this because CCP ignored the feedback given while the expansion was on SISI, where the ppl giving this feedback are really interested by actually improving the game, hence post constructive feedback post.

now, the issue being ignored and reaching the prod server, you have every kind of player posting about it, including ppl not used to post feedback, wich are more used to "WTF IS THIS" kind of post.

if CCP would have listened to the constructive feedback from SISI and modified the animation, or simply mad it optionnal, we would'nt be here with everyone and his grandma complaining.

i have a pretty powerfull rig (i7 2600k @ 4.2 / 16GB / SSD / gtx670), and a pretty nice connection (16ms ping / 100Mb/s (real)), and i have many many issues with the new animation causing fps drops, all kind of bugs (screen filled with one color, no brackets / overview upon landing / stuck in the animation), AND if i make a trip with 10+ jump, i start fealing nauseus.

so this animation cause issue, and doesn't improve the game, so AT LEAST, give us the option to turn it off, then everyone will be happy P

Like it would take all of 10 minutes to fix it.

They just said F off, deal with it. You haven't seen them comment to this thread.

So you say, F off, I'm not paying you any more for this crap ass game.

Boycott this garbage, there are plenty of games out there.

You're not even flying space ships, it's a damn flight simulator. Objects in space do not bank turns, do not make sonic boom noises when you go into warp, oh wait, that would be break the sound barrier, do not come to a stop when you shut down power. If you need a reference, watch Battlestar Galactica.

I don't care what you think, if you ever think at all.

Like I said, there are only three options. Deal with it, wait for them to fix it, or quit. That's the end of it. Lock this thread already.

Did that for a bit.....
Got tired of waiting....
Already did the final option as well.....

Just like a person famously said above

Well considering this "feedback" thread has 53 pages and has been going on for over a month now which in EvE thread terms for a non sticky thread ranks it as "gee maybe they are actually serious about this"...

Maybe just maybe we better bump the business priority so that this in our next sprint......
Or at least provide some feedback since it doesn't look like this one is going away.....

Who knows maybe if we have to do another hotfix or another smaller release we can stick a temp fix in to get rid of this being on the front page.....

Well, there's been feedback: they are looking on it, there's summer holidays ahead and it will take time.

The more I think about it, I am more convinced that tehre is no way in which CCP can avoid this stuff from happening. They use a certain development approach that allows them to produce 2 udpates per year, but also haves its own drawbacks, one of them is diffcult synchronization.

If you got team A doing the "remove bar" thing, team B doing the "replace transition effect" thing, team C doing the QA testing, team D doing the animation art, and team E coding it, delaying the implementation b/c the effect is nauseating is not an option.

And then, fix it once Teams C, D and E have been disasembled and reallocated to other tasks, also is slow and difficult.

If you're NOT CCP, you may have a number of middle-range controllers to keep this kind of synchronization right and ensure that team 27 is not uncoding the work of team 18, FAI. But CCP never promotes anyone and keeps a light management structure aka once a guy who can decide that team D spoiled it with the camera pan sees that it needs fixing, everything is so advanced that there is no way but release, pray for the best.... and fix later if possible.

That's not quite right. They did comment on the thread here and here.

So, there's no problem guys. They are looking into this. And I take CCP Sisyphus at his word when he says this:

CCP Sisyphus wrote:
The jump transition, much like the warp tunnel, is here to stay as a replacement for loading bars, and therefore it has to be good for everyone, and has to function as intended. .... We will stress though, that we hear your concerns and we're in the process of exploring various avenues for resolving them that include work on the camera and work on the animation itself to smooth it out and alter how it flashes and scrolls, however this is something that will take time and won't happen overnight.

For now, I'm just playing for like an hour at a time before I get fed up with it. Today I'm mostly gona be off on the balcony with a cold beer and a decent book. Smile No worries though. It's all getting sorted. It will just take time.

Enjoy the warm weather! Cool

Hey guys,

First off, thanks for all the comments that have been coming in regarding the new jump transition that we introduced with Odyssey. We've been keeping a keen eye on both the positive and negative feedback, and are currently looking at ways to resolve some of the issues that people are experiencing with the transition.

Oh yea, putting the function inside of an if statement, adding 1 variable, and putting an entry in the config page is sooooo hard.

Would have taken you less time than writing this reply.

It truly is pathetic.

I don't care what you think, if you ever think at all.

Good for you that you have better things to do as I also have. Sounds nice with a cool lager. But I fear that an approved change is not just around the corner now that the ccp has already said that the holidays are higher up on their list than making changes to the animation - So yes it'll probably take quite long time as you also writes.

Ccp may well prove me/us wrong (which I hope!), but I'm not going to fill their pockets in the meantime since I do not play eve as this animation for me is hugely frustrating and is very annoying to be forced to experience the whole time.

This account expires today then there is only one out of 3 left to bother ccp and all their fanboys with Twisted. This last one it also expires in a while.

Have a nice weekend!

So at first I thought it was just wishful thinking. But I really don't think it is now. Smile

The animation seems better than it was a week or two ago. The tunel is not as freaky. But most importantly, the ship itself no longer swings around in that crazy way. Now it's just the viewpoint that pivots. Somehow that's not as bad. (I'd still maybe make the swing less violent. But still...)

Definitely a step in the right direction? Or am I seeing things? Question

For the record:

I'm still not at all happy with the camera movement
I still don't find the whole tunnel thing to be visually appealing
I still don't like the "quick zoom into position" at the destination

So no, I haven't adapted at all and still would like a switch to turn it off.

Speaking up again to say the autoscan and freaking huge info boxes that pop up if you inadvertently move your mouse over one of the also intrusive auto green diamonds IS PISSING ME OFF.

FFS give us a way to turn that **** off once and not have to keep doing it every friggin jump.X

edit - +1 for a loading bar, and a scanner that only does **** when and how you tell it to.Straight Please give us a ******* choice that we can toggle on or off whenever we may want the new stuff.

CCP, there are off buttons for ship explosions, missile effects, turret effects, etc. "Immersion" does not seem to be harmed by those. So, please give us a persisting off button for the jump gate and autoscan visuals.

I remember when the trinity expansion came out that players were then whining about the prettier graphics.

there is no old system anymore

No issues with that, but i too would like to DC the dizzying vortex. I have 2 issues with what is occuring that are both impeding game function with me.

1. I use my tactcal overlay religously, each time i exit the gate i am zoomed at zero and the constant scrolling back is a real PITA.
2. Sometimes my laptop gets stuck in vortex mode to which i've become accustomed to minimizing game and bringing it back up.
3. The WHOOSH of going through the gate is so loud it drowns out VIOP programs and i've yet to be able to turn that down. Can we soften the whoosh or best yet DC the gate effect.

CCP someone said they hated loading bars, instead they gave us loading tunnels which we now hate. Good job at forward thinking about how the players feel jumping 100 gates a day.

Not true, the bitter vets charge jita and attempt to blow up the indestructable monument first. Then they unsub and make vieled threats of lawsuits and e-lawyerism that they know nothing about.

Second thing that happens is that subs run out and they are logged off midflight. They panic, run for the credit card, resub then hit the forums putting more forum posts about how they shall now unsub again thus showing CCP just how ticked off they are.

Eve players have a relationship with CCP much like an old married couple.

20 Jumps the other day-- AFK'd until I got to the lowsec gate, then I had no choice but to watch the warp to ship animation, but at least it was only like 5-6 jumps. I don't move between systems much these days. Still paying and playing though.

Here's a very valid question however, why are we forced into a first person view at all? It's so contrary to everything in the game. Even player death is a third person view and according to the lore or whatever, we view our ships from the third person due to tiny cameras that orbit the vessel. So according to the story warping shouldn't be any different. Just saying.

CCP I love your game, but the animation sucks!! I know the 2012/2013 players who you intended to reach love it, but we the paying and established account holders clearly beg to differ.
