Buying & selling doesn't seem to be worth it as all buyers are buying at less than local sellers.

You do not sell at the price they want to buy.

You sell at the price they have to buy.

i.e. you make a sell order with a price that's marginally (0.01 ISK) below the best sell-order.

@op: You're doing right to a degree where I wonder if you are a vet wanting to illustrate to new players how they were supposed to have done it.

Off to sell low cost equibment at my starting station for inflated prices.

That's the spirit. Trade is just a more honest form of scam.

Level 1s are only there to kick start you mission living...you arent stuck with them.

But I understand that level 2 or above can only really be done by a cruiser and above. And my cruiser has just been killed by a player in lowsec space and I'm relucant to risk the replacement that is going to almost bankrupt me.

You might try joining a new-citizen-friendly corp if you haven't already. EVE solo is rough. Takes more tenacity and bloody-mindedness than most people have. Of course, therein lies the challenge. For some.

The advantage I have in my corp is that I can roll with them on Level 4 missions and other ops that I ordinarily would not be able to try. The learning opportunity is tremendous. Go in with a good attitude and a willingness to learn AND to contribute. Doesn't mean that you have to stay there for the rest of your EVE live, but it'll certainly help.

Good luck and fly safe...

What kind of things do I need to know in order to FW? This post makes it seem like it has a huge return on doing it, but surely if that were the usual case all of the newbies would do it to farm BPs. Is it really just a matter of 'get into random frigate, scan for plexes, kill npcs, receive LP'? Surely not, right?
