A decision has been made on the use of overloaded modules such as the overloaded ASB's that have 13 charges loaded instead of 9.

These overloaded modules will not be allowed and this will be enforced in the same manner as any other module violation. This means that any ship with an overloaded ASB will not be moved and will not participate in the match. Should the team not rectify this violation in a timely manner they will fight without the violating ship or ships.

Is now the time to point and laugh at the people who jumped the gun and bought them for 2.5B a piece?

Well, a little clarification on what is meant by overloaded ASB's would be helpful for those of us, who don't know what the hell it is about? o.O

ASB modules that were fully loaded with 13 charges before the capacity of the ASB was reduced still have all 13 charges loaded. This means that these modules have 13 charges instead of the current maximum of 9 charges effectively making them more powerful.

Short version:

When ASBs came out they allowed a certain number of charges. CCP nerfed them slightly, reducing the number of charges they could hold. This only took effect on reload, meaning anyone who already had the pre-nerf number of charges in their ASBs still had them post-nerf, and thus the ships became more valuable for AT where a few extra boosts before reloading could make a big difference.

edit: dammit! Your short version was more concise too Sad

An overloaded ASB is an ASB that has more charges in it than it would have if you unloaded it and loaded it back up.

There was a change some time back that lowered the carrying capacity of ASBs and pre-existing modules did not have their contents corrected, which is how these came about.

Perhaps "over-capacity" would make more sense when speaking of these.

Btw, I know someone who kept a Cyclone with these too-many-charges in order to sell it to AT teams. Just in case someone is in need (EVEmail me if you want the contact).
It's a one-time bonus though...

Good call guys. The fewer pay-to-win options, the better. Now, about bumping AT prize ships up a few points...
