I happen to be a fan of the new hacking mechanics. It would be wonderful if cans would spawn at grav sites, etc etc that contain ores. Big smile

Why stop at mining? Why not make hacking the new form of PVP?

First you must lock the enemy ship, when you activate a gun(s) on that target, a window populates that is shared between everyone else that is activating a module on that target. You must then click on random circles, which causes the target to take different amounts of damage, with key systems protected by heavy shielding. Once you break that shielding you can deal a wrecking hit on the target ship. The game ends when the target ship blows up.

Lowering the average to make you look better since 2012.

No thanks. There are plenty of ways to make mining more active with out it being a click twitch spam fest.

Ring mining is a myth, ccp uses it for April fools and to annoying miners by providing unfufilled dreams of grandeur

Here's an idea CCP could get behind: when you shoot your laser at the asteroid, it blows the asteroid into chunks, each of which you have to click as it spews. Unlike hacking, you can now click as many as you want, except that their speed is 5k/sec.

Smiles spread across the faces of every ninja miner in EVE.......

Yawn,  I'm right as usual. The predictability kinda gets boring really.

I always thought mining should be like PI.

Map an asteroid and select the optimal locations for ore extraction until you get what you want and the roid is a dessicated shell.

Lot less pointless clicking while still holding your attention, and it looks cooler.

Whatever. Doesn't discount the ability to do proceduraly generated mining areas. Rings are of little consequence.

Who are these people that would suddenly take to mining if it was more interactive? Are they currently running missions? Or are they PvPers who think that they would do mining if it was "more interesting" but actually wouldn't touch mining because it doesn't involve blowing up other people's ships?

Would you prefer gun mining to come back?

Maybe mining should cause rats to spawn while you are doing it.
