So many miners losing ships because they refuse to buy a simple permit...

I had to euthanise thirteen ships and seven pods because they were involved in illegal mining operations over the weekend and the rest of the New Order had killed many more.

Please, do the right thing and buy a permit and obey the New Haliama Code of Conduct, otherwise your ship and capsule might be put out of the misery of a non-compliant life.

I had to take care of one myself as well. It made me sick to my stomach to see 21 afk miners in a white glaze belt this morning. I wanted to go back and enforce the Code until there were no more law breakers, but I decided that a good night of sleep would make me more productive for peak time tomorrow.

Of course, if miners take a holiday Sunday, we won't need to enforce the law.

See Bio for isk doubling rules. If you didn't read bio, chances are you funded those who did.

Perhaps if the occasion cost of replacing a barge isn't bringing the results you want, another approach to really hit home and instill the fear in the mining heart should be considered. Such as taking over the buy sell order market of the entire region so they're forced into hauling or coming to you to sell and buy permits.

Then you could reallocate forces to region choke points and lock down all attempts to haul out of region.

As much as I would love to hit miners where it hurts - in the freighting phase - game mechanics make that extremely difficult in high sec unless you have the level of resources Miniluv has.

Also it can be difficult to know whether that freighter you see in high sec is carrying illegally harvested minerals, legally harvested minerals, or hundreds of Catalyst hulls, t2 neutron blasters and t2 magstabs. Seeing a Charon kill mail with 100 Cata hulls, 800 small blasters, 100 of each relevant rig, 300 magstabs, 200 sebos and 10400 charges of Void S would bring a tear to my eye.

I'm not part of your order and I blap miners indescriminately. (Okay, maybe not procurers and skiffs.) What does it matter to me if they buy a permit or not?

Obeying the Code is only protection against New Order operatives. We don't provide protection from other people that might want to confiscate mining equipment.

Miners would be advised to pay for whitelist standings from Miniluv, for instance, if they operate in or around Uedama.

Just to add to Sabriz Adoudel's sound advice...

A common misconception is that by buying a New Order Mining Permit one becomes immune to members of the New Order who are galliantly enforcing The Code.

The Permit forms only one part of The Code, albeit a very important part. It is, after all, called the New Halaima Code of Conduct and requires miners to conduct themslves as respectable highsec citizens. As a part of this, miners who follow The Code correctly will find that indescriminent blapping will not happen to them. They will be well tanked and keenly watching local and their overview so they can take necessary action to avoid such situations.

For those wanting to brush up on the details follow the link in my sig and head to the page entitled "The Code"

Some mining ships are more difficult to euthanize than others, but nothing is invincible. Not even the Veldenaught (which really should be ganked someday)

Uedama has been my center of operations since I raised the Jolly Roger. It's become fairly clear who are, and who are not the bots or AFK'ers - I log in, and people start docking up.

Clearly, some are are just not getting the message, though... Just popped a hauler trying to remove mineral lootz. Wish I'd a smart-bombing BC or BS on-hand, though - The barges filling the hauler woke up and got away whilst I was re-shipping.

Go for it. Try to gank the veldenaught. I want to see the outcome. Something tells me it would not be a pretty sight. Just let ccp know ahead of time. I have a feeling that getting that many people in system fast enough to not have Chribba notice and warp out, then having them all engage, and the resulting concord swarms, especially considering it in .9 or 1.0 sec, would probably crash the node.

Also, how does concord respond in time dialation? Are they also slowed or no?

I'd say you'd need a series of suicide pointers, holding the Veldnaught down until critical forces can arrive. Best practice would be to have the gankers logged-off in adjacent systems, logging in just prior to 'kick-off,' then gating in and warping to a scout whilst the suicide pointers hold him down, pointing and getting popped in sequence. Or maybe some hard-core bumpers to keep him from aligning? Or all the above.
Could be messy. And hilarious.

IME, they also seem slowed. Of course, my experience with that is strictly limited to Burn Jita I. Things may've changed.
