FW high sec hauler: Bustard vs Impel

Hi,

I'm in FW and need a hauler for solo trips to (friendly) high sec trading hubs. I meet WTs rarely, but often enough to avoid flying bigger stuff like Orcas or even freighters (when solo). So what I need is some agility but still good cargo bay. That's why I consider deep space transports. Blockade runners are much more secure ofc...but they don't offer that much cargo space.

Amarr's Impel has most cargo space. Caldari Bustard offers ~6000m3 less cargo but can field a much better shield buffer because of more medium slots.

My question: should I focus on Caldari or Amarr t2 industrials? Is more tank on Caldari really that useful to lose some cargo space in exchange? At least all deep space transports have +2 warp core strength inbuilt. I could say if I need any tank, I did something wrong. Or not? Maybe this bigger buffer could help to survive alpha strikes...or it helps to re-approach the gate in case I get caught. Also: is there any other aspect I miss - apart from tank vs cargo?

TL;DR: why did you choose a Bustard over an Impel?

Thanks for any hint!

If you need a Tank on a lowsec hauler, you're doing it wrong.

Provided you use the cloak+MWD trick there's not much of a difference, so you may just go for the impel for increased cargohold.

The only thing good about Caldari industrial ships is the Charon.

Use an alt with a bestower and save yourself some grief.

Unless you're planning on taking things into active FW pipe systems from highsec. In which case, your desire for cargo space is foolish. You want a blockade runner.

Impel. You can always choose to not fill all lows with cargo expanders and add some tank. Amar blockade runner is also better than Caldari if you ever decide to get out of friendly highsec.

Btw, Providence also looks way better than other freighters, if you ever decide to get one.Bear

Im pretty sure the best are Charon and Obelisk
Charon for most space of any freighter and Obelisk because it has the second most and is faster then the Charon

Now, more than ever, we need a dislike button.

Evenish resists = more ehp vs gank. All freighters are spacy, it's going to be enough.
