New Pilot Looking For Pirate Missions

Hello everyone!

I'm a new Eve pilot and I'm looking to start running missions. However, after reading some of the back story I would like to run pirate missions instead of Amarr missions. I would prefer to run Sansha or Blood Raiders missions since they seem to be more oriented towards lasers which is what I have been training. I also like the story line behind them.

Can anyone direct me towards where I could start running missions for these pirates? I've tried searching on these forums and on google but aparently I am search engine illiterate.

Well, anyways, I appreciate any and all information you folks can supply.

Thanks!

If you're a new pilot, don't. It's in npc nullsec. You'll be bubbled and killed. Learn the ropes first.

Yeah, Pirate Faction missions are in Null Sec.

As for locating agents for particular corps or factions, a great resource is: eve-agents.com

First thing you should do is complete the tutorial and all 5 career agents, that will give you some ships, skill books, modules, isk, etc.

As for info, check out this thread.

Other than that, good luck.

Having ran a great many l4 missions for Sansha's Nation I will say that there are easier, and more rewarding paths if you want isk, in fact FW missions make me a huge amount more versus the time I put into getting the LP to sell slave sets or whatnot. It is also not the friendliest thing for a new player....

However, I am all for people doing what they want, and if this is something you want to do here is my advice:

Lasers don't really mean much, if you work for Nation, you won't get True Sansha lasers in your LP store like you would get Imperial Navy lasers when you work for them. You can get "Sansha" laser crystals through LP, but not "True Sansha" and the "Sansha" crystals are a tiny bit worse than Imperial Navy IIRC.

As far as damage types go again, lasers don't mean much, you will get send against all factions except blood, gurista, and sansha if you are flying for them. This means that in general it is best to use a weapon system that changes damage types, since minmatar rats will be way harder to kill than amarr rats with lasers.

Missles are ideal, drone would be nice too, but basically the secret to not dying on these missions, is to warp to a safe and cloak the second you land in your safe. Drones will be scanned down and they will camp your mission, assuming you leave any behind. Now, I used drones plenty, but mainly lights and mediums, it just takes too long for your orges to return, if a dedicated scanning alt wants you he will get you scanned down pretty quick. This also means unless you have to do otherwise to say get to an acceleration gate, always be aligned to a safe while on the mission.

Bring a t3 with you don't use it on missions. It is for hauling blueprints to nullsec, if you have the isk, sure mission in one, but you can lose many drakes or ravens for the price of a tengu. Also, the first thing you will want to build is a catalyst for salvage, all of the l1 missions you can do in a velator or imicus with drones and staying at range, but you will need that salvage dessie to collect loot after the missions, since ammo and ship are generally not on the market in nullsec.

I started with a reaper, and then built a catalyst, then an arby, then a drake, then a noctis, then an apoc. It took at least a month to gather that much loot, the t2 mods on the ships I hauled down in a tengu. It takes lots of time and persistence, but if you really want to do it, go for it.

Thanks for the advice! I've already started training up some missile skills. After looking at all the Amarr ships, Sansha Ships, and Blood Raider ships, some of my favorite (looks wise) have been the Amarr Khanid built ships. So I plan on flying them some too. I love their color scheme, and if the missions are better done with missiles, I"m sure this will work out nicely.

Thanks!
