Character Bazaar

Good evening Capsuleers!

It's come to our attention that there are a number of individuals who are attempting character scams via impersonating other users of the skillsheet hosting site, EVEboard.

Our GMs are dealing with a number of cases where scammers are impersonating legitimate users by using rookie characters with their names created to look almost identical to those who have pages up on EVEboard to show off their skill training. Typically they're using names with lowercase "L" substituted for uppercase "i", and other such scams that appear legitimate to the untrained of casual eye.

It is believed that these scammers are using their ill gotten gains for RMT purposes, and as such we are working to nip this in the bud as soon as we can.

We would like to point out the following, and offer the following guidelines:

1. Character name imitation is a EULA violation and as such can lead to accounts being permanently banned.


2. Character trade scams are strictly forbidden and lead to immediate permanent bans when found.


3. Always verify the character's age via their employment history displayed on EVE Gate, and be sure to double check it in game before engaging in any negotiation for a character sale.


4. Also compare the forum post avatar to the image of the character on EVEboard, any small differences are suspicious.


5. If someone is offering you a character for so little ISK that it appears to be too good to be true, IT USUALLY IS.


6. If in doubt or suspicious of character sales, contact Customer Support.


7. Again, if something feels wrong or you experience any issues at all, please contact Customer Support.

When purchasing a character via the Character Bazaar, please be vigilant and double check every aspect of the character sale. Please also ensure that if you have any doubts, or issues with a character sale, that you contact customer support immediately so that our GMs can look at the case as soon as possible.
