Hi sorry if this has already been asked but can you clarify the disconnection rule as there was some confusion over it last time. -

Not that we're planning on having someone disconnect again but I was under the impression the "you get destroyed if you DC" rule was replaced with CCP just turning off emergency ewarp within that system - meaning if you disconnect you had the chance to get back in while your ship just sat there - lockable and killable etc by the other guys but it gave you a chance.
This came from one of our pilots d/cing in the preliminary stages - everyone seemed to agree this change was pretty decent - has it been rolled back for this AT? - The rules on it seem to be a copy paste from last year before this change was made.

The exact rule is:
"If a player warps out/leaves the arena, his/her ship will be destroyed. This includes disconnection emergency warps. This rule is in effect before and during the match."

If you warp off the field you get destroyed. The tool does everything it can to prevent you from warping off the field when you disconnect, but we have kept the rule in place as a fallback if someone slips through (which they can in certain cases such as disconnecting while in warp to the arena).

So if a team member gets disconnected after moved into the system - the team is screwed anyway?

If you can get your guy back online fast then you may be able to recover. The disconnected person will only be destroyed if he e-warps out of the arena.

If the disconnection is long-term, then you just need to do without that pilot.

I recall one alliance tournament where the emergency warp was simply turned off within the tourney system, which from my point of view is the best solution, not still in use? It's a pretty big blow in itself to have one of your team members floating in space effectively dead weight but with a chance to recover, instead of 'internet hiccup, dead' specially now, with the double elimination setup of the tourney, giving less room for error and loosing due to a disconnect has to be a heavy blow to any team.

E-warp is turned off under most circumstances, but not all circumstances. That's why the rule has always been in place.
