Wife/GF gives you an hour on EVE: How do you spend your time?

Find yourself a project, like building a capital. Research about compression, get the skillplan up, research a good system to build in. Then just maybe you log in to handle the production and if you are really, really patient mine the minerals you need.

More fun then just "making ISK".

My Gf paid for my membership. Is that enough said?

About an hour should be plenty of time to pack her bags Twisted

Take the very strong hint and spend it with said wife/gf...play when she's out.

Solecist Project...." They refuse to play by the rules and laws of the game and use it as excuse ..." " They don't care about how you play as long as they get to play how they want."

Welcome to EVE.

First off your assumption is incorrect, but even if it were correct forever alone is better than letting your spouse carry your testies in her purse. Any relationship that is not a healthy partnership is not worth being in regardless of your gender. A woman that constantly emasculates and controls her man is the female equivalent to a physically abusive bf/husband. Think Ed Helms's character from the Hangover.

Obviously I know nothing about the OP, which is why I edited my post, but the way the title is worded it comes off like permission is needed to play EVE. One should not need permission to partake in their hobby in their free time. It's one thing to be busy and have more important obligations than a video game, its another to not be allowed to play a video game when nothing is going on because it will anger your spouse. But it was unfair for me to make all these assumptions about the OP just from a few words in the title, when the OP could of just been trying to be cute. But I didn't find it cute, it made me a bit bummed out.

Sweet Jesus, what's with the complete derailment off the topic and the hate mongering against my wife? I try and make some coy little title, and people completely miss the subtle word play for the (what i thought) was obvious jest. Now we have a womens rights activist commenting, and a handful of others who clearly don't know what family responsibility is.

So let me rephrase this and get back on topic here.

Assume you're over the age of 25 - you've got family that takes up a lot of your time, and it's hard to sneak away for more than an hour at a time because you have real life responsibilities. I realize the core demographic isn't probably people over 30, but I have faith that we have some smart people on these forums who have solid information to contribute.

I like the PI I guess. A bit dry, but a safe way to make money. Freighting may the way to go - haven't really done a whole lot of purchasing on margin, but I do have a charon gathering dust. Never dabbled in T2 production - but it sounds like fun. I think I'll look into that further.

Lets see im 30 with a kid i play in my free time with testies still attached firmly, i work a 9-5 (kinda its 12-9) i take care of my responsibilties but if shite aint happening im playing my game or taking part in other hobbies

one hour? That pretty much rules out ratting and mining...

So heres what i would do asuming i have brains for it

- Invention and t2 manufacturing, nice profits, but takes pile of iskies to get going (need pos, labs, skills, etc....)
- Tradeing, nice profits but hour a day might be limiting factor on how much isk you gain per day.

- Ratting might be option if you have access to really good space with good anomalies and have good ratting ship under yourself.

We are Minmatar, Our ship are made of scraps, but look what our scraps can do...

If you enjoy trading or manufacturing they can work well with less time input.

I prefer building stuff over just trading. Inventing and generally building anything that is profitable is fun for me, so is giving the isk away to interesting causes (after plexing).

In hindsight my post should have had more psssshhhh

Make sure she's out longer by changing the locks on the front door.

Actually people with normal relationships where things like gaming time is not imposed/forced by the significant other. You know, things that should come naturally in a working relationship/marriage. You'd know that if you were part of one.

OP doesn't sound like he's complaining at all. He chooses to -ONLY- spend an hour to himself playing the game. Sounds like his testis are attached.

I'm in a similar situation only for me I play exclusively after she is in bed to my hearts content (if homework is all done).

That being said you can rat in null decently for about an hour at a time should you choose to and if you have something nice and shiny to pew with that kills things quickly. That is of course if you aren't into invention/indy etc.

Solo camping plexes in FW space can be entertaining. It can also be done in a fairly short period of time.

An hour sounds great until you realize that it's not guaranteed to be an uninterrupted hour. So whatever you choose to do, you have to be able to walk away at a moment's notice.

When the kids and wife are (finally) all asleep you can try doing something uninterrupted, but by then it's late.zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz............. and you're too brain dead to do anything serious and you have work in the morning and you promised you would do the dishes since the missus is busy with a baby and ......zzzzzzzz..........

tl;dr You're not going to be playing Even with any regularity until the kids are older, because, you know, your kids childhood and your wife's sanity are more important than Eve. Mostly.

This is my problem. I find high sec to boring. But can not PVP due to a 2 year old and a 4 year old pulling me away constantly. I had a thing going as a freelance miner in null, but CCP f**ked that up.

I'd fit out four Catalysts, and euthanize some mining ships.

While waiting out GCCs between attacks, I'd be handling my t2 invention and production, sending out the good old www.minerbumping.com customer satisfaction survey to the gankees, manipulating trade orders (including, if I'm lucky, selling replacement mining equipment to one or two of the exploded miners), and posting public courier contracts to get useful idiots to do the dangerous work of building my mercantile empire.

I support the New Order and CODE. alliance. www.minerbumping.com

Well that failed didn't it. Many of us know what family responsibility is. You think Coy title, everyone else sees misleading.

If you really wanted an answer to your actual question you just say "So say I only have a one hour block of time to play..." The extra information just adds to the confusion.

That being said. I would restart my reactors. Kill a few sleepers (20min 100mil cha ching), refresh PI.

And yea you can fit a couple missions into an hour even.

Otherwise pick an area of industry you have never tried.

Wife/GF?

If I had to deal with both a wife and a girlfriend, I wouldn't have much free time either, lay off him, guys.

I got 99 problems, but two women ain't one.

Anyway, enough trolling.

My wife plays EVE, so I don't have this problem. :P

I am sometimes in the same boat; usually get an hour during the day when the missus/little one are sleeping/occupied, but I still have to be able to walk away from the pc in an instant.

When I know for sure i'll be interrupted, i'll sit in a mining barge and half pay attention to the screen.
If I think i'm gonna get lucky and have an hour uninterrupted, i'll log into FW and make some ISK or have a couple of fights.
