For those of us who are not only old and blind as bats but also color impaired and eve addicted with multiple clients open, would you mind making the next travel stargate a bit more distinguishable in color? It seems a bit dimmer then before.

I must say you guys are really knocking out some really good issues. I am sure all of us who play at large resolutions are just tickled about this one. Being at 1900 x 1080 ,..I can not wait :)

Good Job and Be well.

CCP Punkturis continues to bring news of user interface improvements for EVE, and the latest is an option to scale the UI according to one's preference.

The blog can be found here, and your feedback can be left here in the thread as always. Also, don't be shy to jump on the Singularity test server to try it out for yourself before the upcoming Winter Expansion.

wtb dynamically scaling UI components... I'd like certain things to stay at 80% or smaller when they don't have focus, and be able to pin them to 100% if I need to see them, but have focus on something else. Specifically, chat windows, linked loadouts, world location information, maybe locked targets, pretty much everything but overview and selected item. Especially if you could click some other specific things without them stealing focus (like selected item window, locked targets, neocom buttons, hud buttons, maybe even the overview.)

I haven't tested it on sisi so can't comment on what's there, but it just seems like dynamically scaling UI would help make more efficient use of space, plus look really cool.

Heya

Good step in the right direction, but not everything on the screen is of equal importance, thus

  • Can we have each part of the UI scaled individually?

    E.g.
  1. The HUD you showed can stay the same size, I need it for refence.
  2. Id like to have a bigger overview, to easier also see the EW notifications
  3. The information in the upper left corner can be scaled down (I hardly use it)
  4. I want to priorize my chat windows, corp chat is less important than fleet chat, corp chat should use a small font as lots of stuff flows, fleet chat is usually just a few words but of high importance
  5. The targeted object window I want to have bigger (to easier identify the ship and their current shield/armor/hull
  6. ...

Good God - is there nothing team BFF can't do?!! :)

Awesome. A++ for doing something great for all of us and also technically challenging and TIME consumptive.

Epic win.

P.S. Can we get 80%?

This is super cool, but are you sure 150% is large enough for players with really large monitors? Why not have 200% and maybe even 300% too, just in case?

Will there be a letter spacing option? I feel little cross eyed looking at the vastness between letters on the last build I loaded up. (one with the first rollout of R3 BCs.

Blog said that you get larger options if you have better resolution. Developer used 1920x1200 screen which can only support 150% (1024x768 scaled 150% is 1536x1152).

However 2560x1440 screen is able to support upto 187% scaling. For 300% scaling you need 3072x2304 or better resolution. Shocked

This is pleasing. It is not the solution we crave, but at least it's an improvement.
I hope development will continue on this matter as the interface is one of the most cited examples of why people are discouraged to play.

We decided to cap it at 150% because scaling it larger makes some icons look fuzzy.

150% is plenty anyways Big smile

New font is really great improvement but it's not very good for scaling.. Especially if you want to scale down Sad

I think new font is 'too tall' to fit space in text boxes and windows so when you choose scale to 90% everything looks too crowded.. So, it would be great if we can get to customize parts of UI we want or, even better, let us choose from more types (maybe from installed fonts on computer?)

Also, it would be nice if we could position pop-up window with game notifications somewhere else on screen. (That shouldn't be too much work - to make it something like centering camera in display options?)

And one remark/complaint - new font is too small for displaying remaining ammo/charges in weapon icons in HUD.

Nice start but we can ask more fonts ? Some font seems to us ugly and like a 80's DOS font type.

But any positive change is welcome of course, as long as it doesn't hold up the timing of any real improvements.

This.
Anyhow, as an owner of a high DPI screen, I am thankful for this. The 110% setting is looking good on sisi.
