So I'm a relatively new EVE player, and during the last event in which "actors in system which players get to come and interact with; either to help them, negotiate with them, or just blow them up." I got to see and experience just how amazing this game is, not just because of the game itself, but because events like that are what I wish other MMOs would do. They are absolutely amazing, and create a unique experience everytime.

So then I see a new live event for july... a screenshot contest... like every MMO does all the time, and more recently I've noticed F2P cash shop pay to win games doing screenshot contests more often than others, it feels like kind of a cop out for doing a real event. Anyone else slightly annoyed by this?

Just my opinion though.

Maybe you could pick a fight and generate your own content instead of expecting the devs to play with you all day.

Never said that I don't.
I just think the large scale events as really nice for the people that don't have spilled-bucket-of-legos nullsec fights in 90% tidi.

Screenshot and video contests happen because they're popular past times with fans.

They're doing it even if not in a contest, might as well show off what they have.

In WoW they have millions of threads showing off appearance armor sets alone. You get that many players showing off because it's fun.

Invested the time and effort, it's now time to show the world your stuff.

You will with all likelihood find that some people will arrange that the price for a screen shot is to get shot, What a wonderful idea for gatecamp bait.

Learn to read. It isn't a screenshot contest. It's a can you find, get to, and survive long enough to get a screenshot to prove you survived long enough contest.

Well it will be from now on, since they added the rule, that your ship must be visible in all the screenshots and the event will likely move away from highsec.

Look man....if you don't like it or don't want to participate, don't. But, bringing up something you're not going to participate in and complaining about it.....IDK, sounds like complaining........don't do it.

Don't ban me, bro!

Do you ever stop talking about WOW? Also why are you playing eve seeing as you seem to love wow so much and seem to dislike eve?

Anyone "annoyed" by this needs to get a new life or something.

Who cares if someone takes screenshots or not ?

...and is it worth a thread ? Do you publish your other random annoyances elsewhere as well ?

Well it's rather the other way around 90% TiDi is ok, 10% not at all, don't ask me why.

When tidi is at 90%, you're moving at roughly 90% of your original speed. When tidi is at 10%, you're moving at 10% of your original speed. 10% percent of 100ms is 10ms where 90% of 100ms is 90ms...

Sorry for the dumbed down explanation, it wasnt indeded to be insulting or whatever. And obv its not just speed thats affected its everything. It was just easier to explain via speed.
