My number 1 problem is ISK

So yeah... My personal number 1 problem in EVE is making ISK.

I watch how people spend billions buying Characters, Faction ships and so forth, I am sitting here with 12 million.

1. I can't afford to learn to PvP as I will run out of ISK super fast. I have tried, failed and lost a considerable (for my wallet) amount of money.

2. I could do some HS exploration but that will interfere with and ultimately mess my PvP skill queue. And time is my most precious commodity.

3. I could do some FW but I would again end up in 1, above

4. Incursions would be an option, too, but that would also mess up my skill queue

5. Not to mention mining - that would seriously mess up my skill queue (and perhaps also reputation)

6. If anyone says "Join RvB" I would reply that I don't like staged fights

So I am not sure what to do at this stage. I feel that ISK making is a major roadblock in the game, or at least it has been in my personal experience. People have offered to help financially, but I never accepted because that would not solve the problem of being unable to generate an income to fund my PVP.

Posting this in hope that I have missed something and that someone takes the time to explain.

I have a couple of problems but ISK has never been any.

I have more than I could hope to blow up. You don't need to have any high end skills to get a lot of money, just be clever about what you do.

Or more specifically, more clever than the rest.

No

no isk sucks in the beginning. What I did was buy a couple of plexes and then skilled into a battleship as soon as possible and hopped into incursions

I too am looking into alternative revenue streams at the moment. From what I understand one of the more promising avenues appears to be PI (fwiw I am in null). I am being told if done correctly, with minimal interaction daily on my part, I can net cloase to 200 mil a week. That's good enough to replace your typical ship losses at least once. Smile

You make a valid point, good Sir or Madam.

Sounds like someone is going to have to start mining. Either that or sell a PLEX.

You aren't flexible with your skill training, and you don't want to do anything other than PVP, so you don't have much of a choice.

You've got all the time in the world to train up a character for PVP. All of these players, including myself, make billions but we didn't start out that way. I make mine from mining, but it supports all the other things I do, like PVE, PVP and Incursions.

Run combat missions. Pretend it is PvP - at least the same skills will be useful.

12 Million isk, really?

I have a sad for you.

Sad

Lol, you could say the same thing about real life. "I want to do only the things I enjoy but I can't make money doing them." I think for most pilots in Eve there is some form of grinding to keep the ISK flowing. If your goal is PvP, then I suggest training up to be able to fly level 4 missions. Almost all mission running skills are helpful in PvP, with the exception of the small training you need to fly a Noctis to pickup the loot.

Other options would probably divert you too much from your skill queue if your real goal is PvP. Your other option is to plan to buy a PLEX every month. There is really no shame in doing so. Many pilots have an alt they dual box to make ISK. Buying a PLEX each month costs about the same amount and lets you make ISK without spending anytime.

Keep missioning don't give up .

I salvaged everything when I started

Work your way up to level 4 mission and you will start making millions.

What good is your PvP skill cue if you can't afford the ships to fly?

You have to lay the foundation before building the house. Put your "Kill, Kill, Kill" cue on hold and train up a mining barge.

Do PvE, the skills cross over so it doesnt waste time in your skill queue and you may actually learn stuff about mechanics and your ship from shooting at the rats. for example the shield skills for PvP are used for PvE same goes for Armor or pg/cpu fitting skills. In the case of knowing your ship better you can practice manual piloting, keeping range, and understanding about transversal etc etc. the money isnt amazing but its much better than nothing.

well, you could look at faction warfare.

Fly /cheap/ ships. Orbit some buttons. get some LP. trade it in and sell the stuff.

Bug out the moment a hostile enters the system.

Stay in the novice plexes. you'll make bad isk, but people coming in will be limited in what they can bring against you.

Woo! CSM XI!

The best thing that I can advise to you if you have money problems is make friends or join a corporation and skill into a basic Noctis and such. It may not be all that interesting, but salvaging and selling for a new player is quite lucrative if you can find level 4 missions to salvage. That can net you 50 mil a day easily with level 4 missions for the most part.

Roll another account and devote that account to indy and watch the isk roll in. Simple unless mommy or daddy wont give you the credit card.

not all of RvB pvp is staged.... weekends are Free for all and half the time is just a blue fleet and red fleet roaming. I would give it a try before you just assume you dont like it.

As far as my experience goes, FW farming has the best isk/SP ratio other than perhaps station trading if you're in the right militia. All you need is a cheap frigate and the willingness to take the verbal abuse that comes with running away from every potential fight. Plexing in a couple of weeks is a piece of cake.

Or train skills that will still benefit PVP. Skills for missions, exploration, ratting etc.. will all have cross-over into PVP.

@OP You seem to want to have your cake and eat it, you need to make some sacrifices. Either PVP cheap, spend some time doing something else or change your skill queue.

Don't get stuck behind the barrier of 'not being able to afford pvp' , you can keep using that excuse with 10s of Bns sat in your wallet, evreyone can afford to PVP just not always in the ships they'd like.
