Yes, under your criteria that works. A free public KR will ensure the victim loses a shuttle or noobship. After a recent gank using my main, I had an alt pay 0.01 ISK to activate the KR and then got their Velator shot up outside a trade hub to clear the KR.

However most people's goal is to ensure meaningful loss. For that goal, a KR priced at 5-10% of the value of the most expensive ship you expect your rival to fly in highsec in the next month is appropriate.

Everyone keeps talking High Sec. What if he prowls Low Sec? At Sec Stat -10, I don't think he'll last 10 seconds with Concord camping the Star gates in High Sec. Low Sec is still in Imperial Space, just no cops around. But even with no cops you still rack up crime points if you blow up stuff and kill pods. So, if people want to keep their squeaky clean Sec Stats, doesn't that mean that a KR license is still useful in Low Sec space? Or am I missing something?

It means they can attack him in low on gates and stations without taking gat/station guns.

This.

This, this, this, this.

If he is Outlaw, (-5 or worse) they can do that anyway, but some lowsec denizens, amazingly enough, still have -4.99 or better status.

Also, if he trades in those new 'security tags' and repairs his status, he might just forget he has a KR on him...Bear

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Hello there,

I startet reading this forum entry... but after the 5th reply I had to stop reading.
To reply to your questions:

There is no general "right" price for a killright. If you want to make it public, you have to study the killboard of your target. Find out what ships he flies, is he a mission runner, an incursion runner, a PvPer, where does he live ect.
For example:

A killright for a Tengu pilot in High sec will be bought for about 50mill to 150mill ISK (depends on the wallet of the hunter).
A killright for an industrial command ship (Orca) will go for around 100mill ISK.
A Faction Battleship maybe 200mill ISK if your lucky.

If you do not know or you do not want to make the effort of investigating, there is people like me who work in the killright business.
As long as your character is not a global criminal (sec stat below -5.0) or a ganker that only flies destroyers or tier 3 battle cruisers, it is highly likely that he is flying around in high sec in something worth burning.

But please: Never make these killrights public for everyone for a price like 1mill ISK or so... then the killrights will simply be activated by this guy's alt, and then ship killed in a rookie frigate.
