"New account CD Key with 60 days of game time" with Collector's Edition?

I see the 2nd Decade Collector's Edition is coming with "New account CD Key with 60 days of game time."
From that line I can gather that this is for new accounts (rather than just adding the time to an existing account), but my curiosity is around trial characters and this new account game time. Will I be able to use this CD key to upgrade a trial account to a full account? I'm hoping this is the case so I can get me some 21 days of training head start (and maybe a nice little referral bonus).

I'm sure only CCP knows with certainty what we'll be allowed to do with the CD key, but if anyone has any thoughts/predictions on this from previous CD keys you've used (special editions, starter kits, etc), let me know!

Thanks!

Buddy Invites that are activated with CD/Steam/etc keys do not get any rewards Buddy Invite terms and conditions here: https://secure.eveonline.com/Buddy/#terms-conditions

As far as I know you can activate any trial account with that 60 day code, but you will not be eligible for rewards. For example some 60 Day code come as part of an offer where you will get a Cerebral Accelerator as a reward, but only if you create the account using the 60D code.

Ah, I must have missed the fine print. Thanks for that info!
Hopefully the included in-game items come as a separate redemption code, and aren't considered reward with the time code.

golden pod + rifter for my desk!

2x plex would be nice, but I probably will waste that 60d code :(

The pre-order items have come as separate codes: one for the Nefantar Thrasher and one for the DUST514 item which is the Amarr spawn point (a deployable spawn point with lower fitting requirements than others in its class).

Yeah, I've gotten the codes for those already. My concern was more if the non-preorder in-games items (looks like some clothes, Golden Pod, colorful Magnate, Gnosis BPC) come as separate codes, or if they're packaged withe the time code.

Can I have 60 days dual training instead?

Please don't do this. I have enough accounts ;)

In the worst case scenario, you could just activate the new account, get the goods, and then contract them to your character(s) of choice. From what I can tell based on the goodies I got for activating a couple months ago, redeemed items aren't bound to character. The golden pod will be an implant that will Midas Touch your pod when used, so until plugged in should be tradable along with the ship, BPC, and clothes.

On a bit of a side, off-topic note, how do you even use these clothes items?

Yes, all in-game items in the Collector's Edition are delivered via a separate code from the new account key.

Awesome, looks like I'll be making a trial character to get a lil head start before things ship in October.
Thanks Mara and Spitfire!
