It's a good system, really. Either they apologize and give Star Fraction good publicity, they get eviscerated and give Star Fraction good publicity, or they crush Star Fraction and Jade cleverly disguises impudence as the daring underdog who just wants to set things right.

1. The quality of being offensively bold.
2. Offensively bold behavior.

That would be about right.
Tonight I name a ship JFS "offensively bold"
Seems fitting.

impudence (see 'Impudent', adj.) - Not showing due respect for another person.

Yeah, it does sound about right.

It is never simply "due."

Due- adj. Having reached the point where the thing mentioned is required or owed.

Sounds like 'earned' to me. Lol

Jade Constantine's virtue lies in her ability to spout off a lot of words, not in her ability to use them correctly.

It doesn't surprise me in the least that you cannot make the distinction between imposed mandatory obligation (as to a superior) and voluntary esteem freely gifted between comrades.

But it does speak volumes that our enemies (great and small) are reduced to bandying (inaccurate) definitions of words to score perceived little victories against the Fraction. Time was that threat would be brought in space - but such things seem to have gone out of fashion. Disappointing but entirely predictable and rather ironic when these scant interactions happen in a thread posted to conclude an actual conflict in space between the Fraction and somebody else entirely.

Am I to understand you think me your enemy, Miss Constantine? Why, I thought we were on the verge of becoming lovers.

To approach such a state requires the desire of both parties - else it is simply the rather sad obssession of one alone. And since I love only one other person in this universe - the notion your attentions would be welcomed or recipricated is well ... rather pitiable really.

Still if you wish to lament a broken heart by all means author another thread on the subject.

This one exists to signify a ceasefire between organizations and restoration of neutral standings and mutual respect and frankly we've probably heard enough off-topic ramblings from a star-struck admirer.

Weren't you the one that made overtures? Feh, whatever. So long as we can continue to talk about me, I'm fine with whatever it is you want to say.

You know Jade is covering her ass when all she does in a post is toot her own horn. Oh, wait, that's all she does in any of her posts.

Nevermind then...

And I'd really hate to do this to you yet another time (actually, no I don't), but I think you'll find that 'owed' and 'earned' can quite easily go hand in hand without any form of grammatical conflict. My definitions are sound: your understanding is not. Perhaps you should pursue vocabulary lessons in your spare time?

Earned can mean to become worthy of, yes, but if you are really defending the former posts by suggesting that none of your enemies are worthy of respect, I think that my point is pretty clear. Before you go ranting about how somehow everything I said is false because Star Fraction is glorious (Cool), allow me to reiterate. In the 5 or so months I've seen your babbling in the Intergallactic Summit, not once have you shown enough restraint to avoid trashing your political opponents verbally and in a child-like manner with a plethora of overused and wordy insults. There's a word that can be used to describe this, a word that everyone is capable of understanding and deploring universally: that word is 'arrogant'.

Whereas in the same period I've by chance observed your babbling not once have I received the slightest notion of what (if anything) you actually stand for and what (if anything) you hope to achieve in New Eden and what (if anything) you are actually doing in space to achieve these purely hypothetical goals.

Say what you will of Star Fraction. We do what it says on the tin.

Come, come, you needn't be obtuse - my captain said 'one other person', to have found love in this dark universe is to be fortunate indeed. Might the impertinent stop their tedious gurning and the thread return to politics.

Jade Constantine, are you and Reven Neferis still a couple? I haven't heard much on that front lately, despite the running gag that it's supposedly all over the IGS.

Yes, we are a couple though my lover has retired from space and I am oftimes a widow amongst the stars. I salve my loneliness on the blood and broken hulls of regressive imperialists, I sing sad songs with my comrades at arms and drink the melancholy wine of the revolution while dreaming wistfully of a future dance in Pleides that may never be.

Nice of you to join the peanut gallery Lyn Farel. Have you come to make a comment on the political/military situations described in this thread or do you prefer to use Galnet to hurl cloaked invective against targets you are unable or unwilling to move against in space combat?

If so, then she is in good company alongside such creatures as yourself.
