Its bad.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

Tech stops for no one. Games been out 10 years and the only "tech III" in the game is one cruiser per race? Do the scientist of New Eden have some kind of learning disorder?

It's bad in mmos where you have 0.1% chance of losing your "uber dragonskin armor" on death, and you hit "respawn" in pvp.

It's good in Eve, where flying a lol fit means every rat in the region comes over to get on your lol km.

In other words, "free" powercreep, such as from high SP, is bad and discourage fights, expensive powercreep, such as from lol fits, is good and encourage fights.

Lets use a turret as an example, you want it to be able to change from high alpha to high DPS, or from long range to short range but due to the nature of t3 it could only be done at station. How is that any different from just switching guns as they are now and using different types of T2 ammo?

As far as tanking modules go, they already exist. (In a manner is speaking) See: Reactive armor hardener, ancillary shield booster, ancillary armor repairer.

If you don't follow the rules, neither will I.

Derr I know not about different module types and not know nothing about metaphoric speaking.

Those are called Subsystems and already exist in game for those specific ships on top of 3 rig slots and generous calibration.

I would rather see pirate rigs, tech 3 battleship and tech 2 capitals (orca, carrier and dread) first to be honest

i could flesh out the idea of the OP, a customizable module basically.

pretty much like it does a T3 ship, the module would be an all rounder, but wouldnt have the same performance as an specific module, the module could be modified (with scripts for example) to give different results.

this way a T3 shield booster could have either a bigger shield repairing amount, at the cost of a longer regen cycle, or smaller shield repairing amount but a quick regen cycle. the other would make it like the ancillary version, but wouldnt have the same performance of course.

it would be interesting, it adds another bit of player customization to the ships, but it should come at the cost of something, and taking in account the cost in SPs of loosing a T3 ship, i couldnt imagine the amount of SPs lost when loosing ALL the T3 modules.
