So many people are able to do them these days that there aren't enough to go around. Even out in 0.0. Been all over the place out there, even lightly traveled space, lucky if you find any sites at all.

Odd, I was able to find about 10 last night, in 9 systems. You are going to see more spawning in certain regions. Unless you have great luck, it isn't worth doing over nullsec anomaly ratting.

The price has hardcore dropped in last week because this "exploration " crap is about as hard or as exploratory as walking out your door.

there are SOOOO many wcs covert frigs just raiding these sites in null for the good drops it's untrue.
where it was a nice idea. removing any obstacle to who could do these has made it pointless.
even some t1 frig npc in the site would of stopped the farming.

in principal i like the fact there are incoms that don't require tedious flow charts or shooting things.
but the fact it's just one has made it way to over populated.

Agreed and I posted about this. Some rats in some sites would put a little spice back. Lo-sec is knee deep in cheap frigates despawning sites. From what people are saying here it's not worth the effort to go to null sec ( for exploration) ATM.

Everybody who is 'getting into exploration" is missing one important point.

Exploration has always been about getting 80% worthless junk, 19% useful stuff that you can make a decent living off, and 1% mega loot that makes getting all of the of the 'tat' worthwhile.

People seem to think that so long as they grind enough sites they will make the big bucks, it shouldn't be like that. It should be about that bit of luck. And having the perseverance to stick at it rather than expect a guaranteed big pay out just for 'grinding' enough sites.

So, in essence, Exploration is just one big galactic Easter egg hunt? (I haven't done that aspect of the game yet. Still trying to figure out how to make a decent living from mining.)

Watch this space.  New exciting signature in development.

I've done mostly data (some archaeology) sites in high, low, and null. I picked data, parts, and materials cans out of the spew and netted only about 10mil or less for what was hours of searching. Null was joke simply because of the effort needed to get into a quiet system. It got to a point where I was hoping to get ganked just to be relieved of having to click through some many minigames. I breathed a sigh of relief when I finally hit a bubble on a gate and got podded as I was spared any further endless clicking (not to mention watching the jump animation for almost 20 times).

Anyway, being a glutton for punishment I'm fitting a Gnosis so I can give wormhole exploration a proper try in hopes that the reward will be more worth the effort, but as of now in my personal experience-- exploration is a bit of a dud and not really worth my time. Hopefully someone out there is doing it right and raking it in.

It wasn't any less so pre Odyssey, but now when you factor in all the clicking you have to do in the minigame just to do more clicking to collect cans just to "maybe" get something of value-- it's just doesn't really seem worth the effort. The old way allowed you more satisfaction when your efforts produced few profitable results. This new way almost seems to mock you. "Nice work, here are some data sheets"

The most important part of exploration is knowing which cans to collect after the loot spew. If you just click cans at random, you get the total crap loot. Data Sheets. Carbon. That stuff you aren't supposed to pick up.

Using a cargo scanner, you can see what is in the container. Based on what is in the container, you should know which types of cans you want to click when it spews loot. Basically, at a Data Site, click only Parts and Data cans. At a Relic Site, click only Materials and Parts cans. And watch to see what went into your cargo hold so you know when to switch types.
