Resetting wallet to 0 and starting from scratch

Hi all,

I've recently been considering selling everything i own in Eve then buying and activating plexes and starting again with just a Rookie ship and 0 isk. Obviously i wouldnt be starting completely from scratch as id still have the skills & experience ive gained.

Just feel like doing something a little drastic to shake things up for myself in the game. Is this something you've heard of people doing before? Does it sound like fun or the most ridiculous mistake someone in eve could make?

Just wondered on your thoughts as once ive done it its done!

Thanks in advance.

If you do actually do this, give me the ISK. I could use it

Why ???

Just keep everything and start a new character on one of your accounts. Why the d-r-a-m-a ?????

Depends if you have any career missions still left open to you, they pay out quite a bit.

Here the come the "Can I haz your stuff?" posts.

It's not a bad idea, but if you give your ISK away, you won't have it for emergencies.

My suggestion would be for you to put the money in a special wallet division, of your corp or form your own corp and then put it all in your own corp wallet.

That way you start off with nothing and then you still have cash to buy stuff.

It's up to you on how you do it.

It is increadibly stupid, but that alone isn't a reason to not do something you think you'd enjoy doing.

PS. Don't use all the PLEXes immediately. There isn't any need to do it and you might prefer to have a quick injection of cash at hand, if some unexpected emergency or need arises.

It is not unheard of before... there are quite a few people who like the idea of a "reset". But the idea of a "reset" is very open to interpretation as people like doing different kinds of resets. Like, you want to "reset" your game and re-experience EVE from the bottom up. Sometimes I like to "reset" by doing a massive purge of my online friends, contacts, etc ... changing my user alias and letting only the best online friends know who I am now, and then starting from there. I don't know why I do this, but I just enjoy doing it sometimes.

But you need to answer the question of what you are going to do with your ISK and assets. It'd be a shame to see them to go waste.

I was thinking of spending it all on plex and just plugging them all in so my account would be paid up for months in advance.

I knew when I saw that no one had replied I was in with a chance. When I pressed post I kept thinking someone would beat me to it by a couple of seconds.

There are other ways of playing Eve on hard mode, but whatever floats your boat.

At least you're not trashing the isk and you're buying game time with it.

I don't judge people by their race, religion, color, size, age, gender, or ethnicity. I judge them by their grammar, spelling, syntax, punctuation, clarity of expression, and logical consistency.

I quit EVE once years ago. I didn't sell or biomass my old character or any of his stuff, but when I did come back, I
a) had forgotten my login info Roll (could have retrieved it, but:)
b) decided it was time for something new

Later on I trained alts up, like everyone else.

I'd state it this way: The first few months are full of phantom pain. Yes, you still have the experience as a player, but that new prothesis you got yourself there doesn't really work as well yet, as you remember.

I'd say just try it with an Alt for now and see if you can stand it/do like it.

If you've had a higher sp character (10+ mill sp) and you intend to just play the new character, then I'd give you a week before you're bored.

No no no, you have to follow the rules of begging. If someone is just doing a post like "I feel like giving away my stuff" then only the quickest person can claim said stuff. If its a "I got ganked, goons are mean, mining isn't fun anymore" whine post then go nuts.

A while ago I tried something called "EVE Survival Test" where I rolled a new character and tried to play the game without using the player market, everything I owned I had to buy from NPC BPO's and build or find (no taking obvious ships) it was actually some of the most fun and exciting EVE I have played in a long long time! Every day when I logged in I had a goal and meaning to being online, something which playing on Turelus rarely brings.

It's a project I always wanted to continue and keep alive but the time and dedication needed wasn't something I could do without abandoning all my gaming time on Turelus (who at the time needed ISK to PVP)

OP try giving something like that a go and maybe even blog about it and do what I never could...
http://eost.blogspot.se/

That's a link to the blog I was planning to run with the project maybe it will give you some help finding a way to make your rebirth more interesting.

Mr. OP, no not such a hot ideal.

Have you really done "everything" or just been farming the same stuff so long your bored?

What you are looking for is a goal, something to try to obtain that that is a new challenge.

There's alot of places I find people never heard of nor visited here in eve.

But what you might try instead is sell enough to buy a plex, put away then take a break.
Just go and do something else in RL for a while, you may find yourself missing some things about eve when you're ready, do the temporary activation to use you're plex to get things moving again.
