Yup. And if anyone *really* has a problem with gankers... Sell the kill-rights + add a bounty. But that would be too easy, I suppose - Forum-whinging is the source of much amusement.

In the beginning there was nothing, which exploded.

Heh heh heh.

"Forum-whinging" is why I turned ganker in the first place. Got heartily sick of it; gunna *give* them a reason to cry!

Tell someone you love them today, because life is short. But scream it at them in Esperanto, because life is also terrifying and confusing.

Nailed a venture with a weapons-grade WTF-fit:

Still learning - Also, this system is getting harder to work. I think the locals have figured out that I'm present. Lol

Edit:
No tears. Guy is insanely level-headed. What's he doing in EVE..?!

I've been working my way towards this for a long time...

An update comes out, and the miners scream, rant, threaten to ragequit. But they never do. If they did, I might have some sympathy. But all they do is ForumRage. No follow-through. Another update, and more of the same.

They show an incredibly self-centered contempt for other play styles. Sure, the Nul-Sec'ers frequently do the same, but there's a difference - Nul-Sec'ers actually get up and *do* things. On occasion, at least. Blink

Increasingly, I've been off-put by the miners whinging. More and more, I've found myself tempted to gank them. Then came Odyssey. Odyssey was too much.
I bought a stack of Catalysts.

Today, I successfully used one of my shiny-new blaster-fit Catalysts to ruthlessly murder an inoffensive Retriever. He deserved it.
He was mining all alone in a 0.5 sec space in a LoL-fit Retriever. I entered the belt almost by accident... Fumbled about clumsily, bumbled my way through the rocks, and locked him up, scanned him down. He didn't even twitch... clearly AFK with a LoL-fit in 0.5 space. He had it coming to him.
I burned him down.

I'm new to this game of Ganking. I didn't have enough firepower to finish his hull in time to burn his pod too, before Concord did for me... But I'm getting better. Soon pods will join barges on my killboard. Pirate

Enjoy grinding your sec status up :) I have some tags I will sell you.

Heh!

Now that is more like it. Twisted

I may yet take you up on the offer of tags. Fortunately, I'm not so far down to be out of action. Yet. That will come soon enuogh - And I'll learn how to live with a target painted between my shoulder blades.

Are you determined to keep the ganking character legal to fly in all of highsec?

If so, one thing you can do is skip podding, and operate in a system that's adjacent to lowsec. Keep a stockpile of gankalysts in the highsec system, and while you are on GCC from a gank jump into the lowsec system in your pod, then swap to a fast ship that can rat. An Enyo is a good idea as it shares so many skills in common with the Catalyst, or hell you could just rat in your next Catalyst.

Remember: Don't reenter highsec until your 15 minute GCC timer is up. That won't end well for you. You'll get three +sec status ticks while in the lowsec system, which should cover all losses from illegal violence toward ships.

Also remember: If you gank someone and they shoot back even once in the gank, you have a limited engagement against them and so popping their pod is legal. You'll still suffer sec loss and kill rights and CONCORDOOKEN for the illegal attack on their ship, but attacking their pod incurs no additional consequences.

Good - no - Excellent advice. Thank you! Cool

Not entirely determined to stay Hi-Sec, but for now my skills match up best with ganking in Hi - Too many good shooters in Lo. At least in my next-door Lo-Sec system, anyway. Blink

Last night, after I nailed the Venture, there was so much junk in the belt (abandonded drones, cans, and such) that I mis-clicked and his pod escaped. He came back in a lol-fit Manticore as I was scooping up the wreckage in my next Cat, but bolted before I could burn him - He was aqua, so I presume that his drones must've taken a shot at me. End of the matter, we wound up discussing the whys and wherefores of not getting burned in a Venture, and I got to explain the joys of ganking, using his fits as examples. Convert to the Cause? Could be... Gave him a little bit of emergent game play anyway, and he thanked me for the gank.

Upshot is that I'm still 'legal' in 0.6 and 0.5 space.

Side note, I think I need to change systems; I'm hitting dinimishing returns in that system - I log in, they all dock up.

I do have a nice Lo-Sec system right next door, with a fair number of good shooters. Blink Lost a Gankalyst ratting there. Will have to try the Enyo - Sounds interesting.

I'm very conscious of the timer - I've a salvage hauler in the system, and I very nearly got one of my victims to Concordokken himself in it by undocking *just* after the timer expired - He locked me up, but quickly unlocked and docked-up. *shucks!* Big smile

One of the advantages of all my targets docking up is that I frequently have leisure time to collect the loots after the timer expires, and I don't get challenged much.

Anyway, I very much appreciate the advice and tactics - I'm getting 'better' at being 'bad.' Pirate

I'll bet that Venture was at a dead stop when you popped it.

Ventures orbitting at full speed with a MWD turned on are very hard to hit.

Webs help primarily there, as they are very very scram-resistant.

Everything in EVE is a trap.

And if it isn't, it's your job to make it a trap...:)

Dead-stop, you betcha. And seriously clueless - He *was* at the keyboard - I watched him warp in. I motored on over, scanned him three times, laughed, and burned him down.
