Engineered system effects in lowsec

Can we please have wormhole-style system effects in lowsec? They could be random or, even better, player-engineered.

This would be a destructible structure which a corp could set up an defend. They would get environment effects that affect their (and other) fleets.

It would make lowsec roaming more interesting and provide a variable to be manipulated and used.

I'd settle for more space tornadoes.

You could just go to a wh P

The light that burns twice as bright burns half as long - and you have burned so very, very brightly..........

Spent a year in them and liked the effects. They make for interesting fights. So why limit them?

Then why be in a WH?

If you take the bling for one thing, copy and paste it elsewhere, the original loses it's shine and appeal. Then it can be discarded like an old dungeon or raid (bad, bad, bad).

Two words "ION STORM!'

Now SCF-FI tradition requires me to hurl myself back and forth at my computer desk while someone shakes the camera, in tribute to the Original STAR TREK. Old Kirk = Best Kirk .

agreeing with ace. However if the cost (say in heavy water and isotopes) were extremely high too run this machine for even an hour I might consider it.

I like that. You could really bugger up an opposing fleet's doctrine but at huge cost and only for a short while.

Well thanks for that, um, contribution. I'm certainly convinced.

I now see the error of my ways. Players must not be allowed to influence the sandbox. I'm sorry. Please delete the thread.

Players are influencing the sandbox, but players shouldn't shape the sandbox.

Effects in systems would be so bad. You'd have locals who set up their ships to benefit from these effects, whereas travellers/roamers will have a serious disadvantage, which will reduce the amount of fights.

Not my problem you're already bored with lowsec after a total of 150 kills in EVE.

You also need specially engineered keyboards that shoot sparks out for some reason.

You guys are going to have a fit when they introduce player built gates to new systems. Players shaping the sandbox is exactly where CCP wants to go from the sound of things.
