Saw the screenshots of Civ 1 and nostalgia'd hard.

I'd like to apologize for the poor quality of the post above and sincerely hope you didn't waste your time reading it. Yes, I do feel bad about it.

Alpha Centauri best Civ. Close discussion!

But seriously, what made Alpha Centauri so special was its incredibly deep and philosophical structure, no "normal" Civ was able to match this; while the original Civ rightfully deserves ist place in (Computer game) history, Alpha Centauri perfected it, the other Civs that followed are just copies, no more.

Oh man, I haven't seen Sid since he came into a GameStop I used to work at to buy Arkham Asylum. Nice guy, pretty soft spoken.

I want to check out his new game Ace Patrol. Turn-based World War I dogfighting-- what a concept. Kind of like the old Avalon Hill board game Richthofen's War. Anybody tried this game?

Liked his comment, “I prefer games where the player can lead the game in the direction that they want....and then they kind of end up with that unique story that only they can know.” So, Sid likes a sand box.

Big fan. I have over 1200 clocked into Civ 4 & 5 and I haven't played in some time. I'm off to check out the new expansion so I'll probably be back into the game sooner than expected.

He definitely is about the sandbox. Don't like combat ? Be a carebear and go for a culture win on an archipelago map with 1 or 2 civs or disable war.

That was a long but highly worthwhile read.
