Wait what? Did you actually just say the Mack can tank 6 T2 Catys? Even with T2 Rigs and every single slot low/high for tank + 6% Imps + 100% fully T2 bonus for Shield Harmonizing gang link WITH the slot 10 Siege Imp you still can't even get to 50K EHP, which can be ganked by (2-3) T2 Catys with time to play a game of cards before Concord shows up.

Silly noob mistake. See you forgot the Leviathon bonus and a full set of HG Slaves. With all that the Mack gets an impressive (sarcasm) 68.6K EHP!! That would then tank 3-4 whole T2 Destroyers depending on Concords response time. This is ofc when you figure out how to get a Titan into Highsec to boost for you, but I'm sure the OP has a way for that too, since we're all imbeciles compared to him.

I'd be less bothered by Grand Admiral Hoo-Ha's bad fits if he would stop spamming the link to this thread in Hek local.

Confirming that many TEST boys and Belligerent Undesirables Merc boys prefer thrashers.

Also confirming that The New Order reimburses catalysts and fittings for any ganker from any alliance that ganks in its name. If it's a choice between a t2 cat and a meta cat, take the t2 cat and send James 315 the bill.

and it does not take 10 t2 cats to bust down a 30k ehp mack in Otella. More like 3-4, less with meta cat support.

That being said, some of our FCs like to target tanked ships just to make a statement. Permit tank is your best tank. 10 million isk per year for a mining permit is much cheaper than losing your mining ship.

Remember that whenever you have a bad day in EVE, the correct reponse is "Thank you CCP, may I please have another?"

I've tried this, yes it does.

High resistances really do make all the difference. It's amazing.

What is in place to prevent ganks on those who have paid? Are there warnings or patrols to guard them? Is action taken against those who attack permit holders? Do they get their barges reimbursed or have any insurance on them?

Every time I have shot a ship in a suicide gank or seen someone else do it, the ship died much faster and more easily than EFT says it should have, but they were probably poorly tanked. Though there seems to be something more to it because when I tank my industrials well and have people try shooting at them, they usually go down significantly faster than they "should".

New Order Mining Permits require the miner to declare their support for the New Order in their bio, then, trusted agents of the New Order can cross-check the name with our database. Newer spais in the New Order just yell at a more senior agent every time they sell a permit and need the database updated, or when they want to check on the validity of someone's permit.

A 0.5 system has a theoretical concord response time of 19 seconds. A half-assed t2 cat doing 600dps will have a theoretical damage of 11400. 3-4 of them should be more than enough to bring down something with 30k ehp. (If in doubt, bring more dps and bill James 315.) Orcas can die to 6 cats and a couple of brutixes in 0.5 systems.

The good question to ask is : Should I give protection money to the Catalan mafia when there are 50 other mafia and thousands of other shady personnages that won't give a damn or would like to blow me up to make a statement ?

The answer is pretty obvious. They like beating their chest, but they are still a minuscule in the grand scheme of things.

With the recent nerfs to ganking and buffs to mining ships, it is very difficult for ganking to be sustainable, let alone profitable. The New Order is the only organisation that covers all costs incurred by the ganker. Random pirates might blow miners up once in a while for giggles, but the New Order is the only organisation that conducts sustained ganking campaigns with no regards for profitability. It doesn't matter how shiny or cheap your mining ship is, or what it drops, - because my catalysts are FREE.

With ganking made unprofitable, you now no longer have to deal with pirates motivated by greed. You are dealing with community-sponsored fanatics.

Outside of hauler and freighter ganking, we are probably responsible for more high-sec ganks than anyone else.

Or, you are dealing with pirates. Which are not all motivated by money, as you seem to imply. Some people like to blow stuff up, and 5 mill for a fit is hardly a big expenditure for that (but that does not fit your little narrative, so no that you would conveniently forget to mention it)

It's okay, i know that you want to hype your role in your little racket, it's all fine and everything, but at least try to be coherent.

''We won't blow you up personally but you will still get blown up by any pirates running around'' is much more like it. Then again, for talking with Jamey often when he came to Osmon i'm not surprised that inflated ego's flock to the man.

I thought this thread was dead.....

This is still probably the most balanced mac fit.... Not blingy, has a roid scanner (which is important when fighting over roids), and has enough EHP that gankers will generally target the untanked mack next to you:

[Mackinaw, Ice Miner]
Micro Auxiliary Power Core I
Ice Harvester Upgrade II
Damage Control II

Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
Limited Adaptive Invulnerability Field I
'Dactyl' Type-E Asteroid Analyzer

Ice Harvester II

Shield Resistances: 82/83/80/84
Armor resistances: 77/64/58/49
Hull Resistances: 60/60/60/60

High Power
2x Modulated Strip miner II/Ice Harvesters II

Medium Power
1x Medium F-S9 Regolith Shield Induction
2x Adaptive Invulnerability Field II
1x Thermic Dissipation Amplifier II
1x EM Ward Field II

Low Power
1x Damage Control II
1x 'Refuge' Adaptive Nano plating I
1x Prototype Energize adaptive Nano Membrane I

Rig Slots
2x Medium Core Defense Field Extender I (2 II if you can afford it, adds an extra 10% to shields)

41k EHP? Those must have been 6 lol-fitted Catalysts. First of all, NEVER dual tank, especially a barge. Mining barges and exhumers are set up to tank one way......Shield.

The following Skiff loadouts will ensure that only the most sadistic gankers will even attempt to engage you, either that or you really, really ticked someone off.
