So, since I run lvl 3 missions now (I joined eve two weeks ago), I started to salvage with an algos since it has enough drone capacity for hobs and salvage drones plus 6 hardpoints for salvagers and tractor beams.

first, I tried to let my salvage drones salvage automatically (not targeting anything and give them the salvage command) but it's somehow complicated and ineffective since they always start to salvage the nearest wreck, which is normally one of those I am pulling withy my tractor beam and salvaging on my own.

so my next idea was targeting 4 wrecks, 3 with loot for pulling with tractor beam and one without for the drones and it works pretty well.

now I have a question about assigning a target for my drones:
If their attempt to salvage is successful and the wreck had something to take, one of the drones will loot it and want to bring it to my mighty vessel. but if I stop them from returning by forcing them to salvage another wreck and force them repeatedly, will they drop/destroy/send to hell the already salvaged stuff when they have to pick up new or keep it until I allow them to return?

cheers, arezian

edit: maybe this thread should be moved to gameplay forums, sorry for that

I think you lose the salvage if you reassign them before they return.

I have been wondering the same and I'd like to know the answer. Sure everyone could test it at some point but why not share the information?
