I personally hope we get together and kill ourselves though in one last grand party, like World War 3.

if I ever get to see a world-wide cataclysmic event, I want to be in the front row damnit. nothing lightens up your life like a planetary-level explosion at ground zero.

Endless, infinite and forever...very much like Death

For as far as we know atleast (though they believe that the universe expands)

Until that clown, Q, pops up and create an endless wall in space...

And I like those photos of the rings around Uranus.

Can somebody answer my physics question in post #19? About whether methane released into space would keep spreading infinitely, or coalesce into a micro-planetoid?

I think Uranus is comprised of nothing but methane.

Wrong, while methane is present in its atmosphere, it consists of largely of hydrogen and helium.

in space ...no one can smell your farts ! Big smile

Actually you probably could detect a fart in space. In the vacuum the gas would spread out really far so there would only be very small concentrations. But since there is nothing to stop the moving gas you could smell it lightyears away!

And if you would scream when you fart the soundwaves could travel through the gas! So if you actually do hear someone scream in space, you know that someone farted!

Or would the gravitation attraction of the gas particles on each other cause them to form cloud? That is, sort of congeal into a sort of gas mini-moon? Which, if close enough to a star or planet, might fall into a perpetual orbit? The creation of a new celestial body...! Smile

But seriously, anyone know the physics on this?

Im just amazed that OOPE applied physics to a fart comment in the first place.

Since the cessation of their usefulness is imminent, may I appropriate your belongings?

For me the possibility to retire somewhere else so far and alien from this Planet I could finally have a modicum of peace and mind.

What I have always enjoyed about space, is how in fiction there is always a splinter group of religious fanatics, anarchists, criminals or even bizarre humanitarians or wealthy tycoons wanting to carve out a new order of things free from the bonds of Earth and the sheer stupidity that is our modern life.

A place to flee , hide and then grow away from the social trends, media, money and trappings of current civilization.

I have moved/lived somewhat around the Globe, enough to understand that it´s not the country, but me.

I honestly want to get the hell out of here. Even In Eve I have moved over the years all over the place. Can´t stand being in the same place for more than a couple of years nor tied to any kind of entity.

Space is my only choice at this stage Big smile

Yay!

(So eve is a good Vicar for it)

Indeed...and a pretty black it is, too...but just to be on the safe side, let's paint it all black, black as night, black as coal - I wanna see the sun blotted out from the sky.
